key takeaway for me was that the word "widdershins" means counterclockwise
that's pretty cool. we made something similar at an HP IDOL hackathon but it was focused on social
I always call YC a money-making machine machine when describing it to the unfamiliar.
Next I'd like to see Steam as a member-owned platform. Awesome announcement, sama!
It's so bare, I love it. Just add more components and we might have something usable for front end developers.
HackReactor is doing it with great success, wouldn't be too surprised to see positive feedback for this course leading to something similar.
Seems slower than qwebirc. Anything it does better?
Check out the Up Series if you find this interesting. Video interviews with English kids from age 7 to 56. "Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man"
I think it's broken. My mom said shirt collars as a service was a million dollar idea.
Perhaps a Quora app that hid identity but showed some kind of "reputation score" could preserve quality while allowing anonymity.
Traveling between collaborative spaces... Working from Cafes and other open spaces without a persistent office sucks.
This is the coolest thing I've seen all day. Every kid should get the chance to play with this software in school and build their designs
Zero tolerance for harassment of Founders or of YC Founders? By what mechanism can founders safely report an offender?
I had the same thought. Anyone know how it compares to competing invoice solutions?
Great hackathon. Really didn't like the expo style presentations though.
The way they phrase it, "magnet sphere," makes what they sell seem so arbitrary. It really helps them make the case of pro-democracy, as if it could be any object banned from sale simply because we cannot trust consumers with them.
Let me get this straight: YCombinator is pledging to snub investors who conduct sexist and racist abuses toward founders? I know we'll face adversity, and I want our team to be able to stand up for our beliefs without getting fucked by the tight-night nature of the community.
I would love to see how this graph has changed between wikipedia's launch and today.
I've seen games that feature increased firing precision while crouched. The mechanic can lead to changes in pacing and ammunition spending. I personally like it. But why not just have Hold to Crouch as default? Players who set it to toggle will have forced awareness of the setting and the relevant button.
I use different browsers for each google account. It's a real pain in my ass.
Can you write off the time spent as a charitable donation?
Look in the back seat
rapid feedback is important for the user just like it is for the developer
is there a .js? if not we should probably build an ad-hoc framework to support it
The new design delivers headlines that I can't highlight to copy. Pain in the ass.
I probably would have purchased Threes if it weren't for the clones. Loved the process documentation. All I can say is keep up the good work. Fuck the haters.
It doesn't matter whether his power comes from state government or private organization. Threats to human rights should be checked. Indifference is selfish.
In tv shows, this would be called plausible deniability.
Now's your chance Sony. Do to Facebook what you did to Microsoft: Nothing.
