Hi Yen, my goal is to be as anonymous on the Internet as possible so I don't become a target of bigotry, stupidity, etc. from people in my community/country. There are more than a few countries in this world which is letting extremism win, so perhaps you may guess wrong. :)

I understand that I need a sense of identity on the Internet too but when I'm expressing opinions, I've learned to be anonymous because people who may know me (esp. on Facebook) don't like thoughtful honesty. It is shocking how many people just like positive and pretty things only (while choosing to remain silent or block out painful truths) and rarely discuss real issues. And if they do, they only rant or get into unnecessary debates. No real actions were taken sadly.

I agree api. However when politicians and ruling parties are stirring up the hatred and unrest, you see the condonation of voices of hate, unreason and all forms of extremism on Government-controlled media. People getting brainwashed to accept the status quo without objecting or becoming more pro-extremism. This is how countries in the Middle East or even Nazi Germany turn the countries into unliveable mess.

I think similar to HN, the wisdom of the crowd will be able to downvote an article that doesn't apply but perhaps in the early days having a moderator to approve posts would help.

The plan is actually to fight from outside. The politicians want Internet to be filtered/censored but they haven't won that battle against the people yet. News sources like BBC and generally Western media covers the injustices quite well and safe to say people do not disagree with it. For example, wanting to stone or chop one's head can easily be deemed extreme by most people these days. It hasn't happened but there are trends showing that eventually it can happen so the goal is to prevent it from happening by identifying and highlighting it before it is too late.

Yes, I understand there are risks (of seditions) involved and so I want to structure the site to only show trends based on articles and not have user (or even my own) comments there.

How much did you rate the driver? When I was waiting for my driver to arrive (about 20 minutes in), I was prepared to rate him 1 star. Then I just felt bad that he may lose his job and so stuck with 3 stars.

I see the problem is Uber sometimes do not do proper quality control. In my country where they're starting up, the drivers do not always ring to say they are on their way (some I have to ring them first) and some offer drinks, while others don't. Usually they tend to be very unfamiliar with the roads and takes longer than the 15 minutes estimate to arrive. I can see in your case, the driver doesn't know the best route to get to your destination.

Uber can probably improve this by helping the driver decide the best route there while avoiding getting stuck in traffic.

And I've always wondered what happens if my phone runs out of battery before the driver arrives.. so that is why the driver MUST ring after the customer puts in an order request!

I discovered I could be really good at it, whereas I previously thought I was too old to learn musical instrument. Just have to find the correct way to learn that suits me. But time is so expensive that I'd rather spend my time on my biggest passion which is programming.

For example, I'm joining Ruby on Rails hacknights and the community welcomes you to come up with something you want to build or built in another language and spend the night building it with the team. My guess if after doing it for 1 year plus you will have a network of friends (some who will offer you the job since they know what you built in that year).

You can be quite advanced in that particular skill if you practice enough for a long time. I picked up guitar when I was 27 when I started taking classes. Then it is up to your level of interest and commitment to reach a certain level.

'Expert' is up to interpretation. I'm only as expert as the other person who know and have practised less. When you think you've arrived at Expert level, you will stop advancing as much.

I too believe building a company should be a marathon and not a 100m sprint. Trying to sprint 100m puts tremendous pressure on self to succeed and could result in suicide. As Dave McClure said, it is a first world problem in those dark days no matter how dark it is. Founders should look to 9-to-5 and build a long-term company.

While I agree with this, it seems that there is a stage where drawing could be part of you easier. Just like someone can learn how to play guitar more easily when they're young vs when they're over 20.

Having said that, I also find that it is much easier to learn how to draw now than ever before. YouTube made it so much easier for people to share skills. So I could learn a certain technique with a certain tool much easier these days than in the 90's.

The biggest hack I have was using 20 minutes countdown clock like http://e.ggtimer.com/20minutes. And it must be easily accesible from the Bookmarks toolbar so I can easily select 20 minutes, etc. and then get going. I think this relates to point #7: "We're always more focused and productive with limited time". :)
