US universities don't really have research focused masters so they are shitty cash cow degrees. I think a research master's from a good European university can teach you a lot and make you a better programmer. It's kind of like doing a few years of a PhD and dropping out in the states.

It's not running well. Far more glitchy than it used to be. You couldn't reply on iPhones a few days ago. I constantly get page load failures on web. It has a decade+ of engineering work on it so I don't expect it to just collapse. But definitely seeing issues

I think it's more likely because PhDs in AI/Ml are extremely expensive to hire. A PhD in AI generally does more than string together pytorch and tensorflow.

Most Founders are interchangeable. The entire business of YC is paying for a ton of people to found a ton of companies and hoping one hits. Luck is a huge factor. The issue is the 1 guy that does hit has an outsize impact on society. Sometimes it's positive but often it's not.
