I tried in both Firefox and Chrome on Linux and picking colors and clicking I can't draw anything. No logs in the console that alert something is wrong.

On a different note I think you've captured the 90s really well. I had a moment of realization that the 90s really were like this. On first look I was thinking this was more 70s/80s terminals. Looking forward to seeing where you take this.

Yes, and tanchid are an important fly. However, they don't seem to have much issue in regards to population etc. I'm not exterminating nor killing the flies just protecting the caterpillars. I still lose many caterpillars to the flies. In 2021 when I got 80 successful caterpillars I still had a ton that died from the flies. I was approximately 40% success rate with my caterpillars growing into butterflies the rest 60% died mostly due to the fly.

Thus far in 2024 I have 23 dead from flies. With my other 4 hatched, 11 chrysalis, 12 caterpillars that's 46% dead from flies (thus far) I suspect some of the 12 caterpillars are already gotten by the fly so roughly ~50% dead to the flies thus far.

They can travel a far way to setup their chrysalis. Though I've also found that when they disappear they tend to be dead from tanchid flies or something else.

I've been planting milkweed for monarchs. We just had 4 hatch today! Another 11 in their chrysalis and 12 hungry little caterpillars.

The biggest pest I've seen personally has been flies. Tanchid flies will lay their egg inside the caterpillar and the larve eats the caterpillars from the inside and they die. So we round up caterpillars we see on our outdoor plants and place them in a protected mesh enclosure with potted milkweed for them to eat.

In 2021 I successfully raised 81 monarch caterpillars to full grown butterflies. In 22/23 we still had some success but I didn't have a garden so we raised 10-20 wild ones. But 2024 we have a house now and a big garden full of milkweed!

Make sure to plant native milkweed in your area!

How did you find you have a yeast intolerance? Was there a test you took? I've had some GI issues that have also limited my consumption of beer despite having previously brewed beer along with many other things I can no longer eat.

If you took a test that determined it was a yeast issue disregard but I'm curious if you've tried things like hop water (carbonated water with hops from beer). If you've had any reactions to that when it's just hops and water.

Does bread give you issues? What about sourdough bread vs traditional bread yeast bread?

The "People younger than you" number is the one that should be increasing due to new births and the older than should be decreasing due to people passing away. I think there's a small error in the calculation. The article is from 2020. So looks like he hit 100k about 1 year after leaving his full time job. Using his current sponsor count of 832 and the minimum sponsorship level of $14 he's making $138k/year.

With all that said. There is definitely some survivor bias here. He found a great niche and a appears to already have had an audience which helps tremendously compared to starting from scratch. Not everyone will have the same success experience.

I don't see why not, assuming it's less than the lambda max run time (15 minutes I believe). Use a python script and an included binary of ffmpeg might work. Note: You'll need to write to the tmp space of the lambda as that's the only place that allows writing to the filesystem and then you'll need to upload it to S3 or elsewhere.

Lambda's are good at batch jobs where you might need to kick off a few of them but not have a dedicated system for it. I've used it to automate manual customer support tasks that are sporadic in requests.

Don't wait until next summer. There's no guarantee that covid numbers will be under better control. Giving a potential cancer/tumor a whole year to grow and spread is IMO a bigger risk than covid.

Elite gyms specifically like Equinox charge $300/month. Yes they are nicer gyms with more/better amenities such as a spa (massage), juice bar, etc. IMO it's mostly a status thing.

Anecdotal evidence, I was able to negotiate $200 off my $3,300 monthly rent in Los Angeles for a 2 bed / 2 bath 1,000 sqft. I think I could have negotiated $300 off but just went with the $200 off for 7 months.

We haven't signed the new lease and are potentially rethinking of signing since cases are starting to spike again and surrounding areas are looking really attractive for similar accommodations at ~$2,500 monthly rent.

Thanks for sharing. First I've heard of this company. It's definitely an interesting position as they look to be providing the browser (viewer) as well as the ad platform. It's unclear if they are hiding/replacing website ads with their own and how the websites are getting their revenue otherwise.

It's clear that the government(s) haven't had people's interest for quite a while now. It's nice for us to vote and protest but we need to take things into our own hands as those forms have yielded little results.

Yeah typically happens with each layoff. It's nice that when times are good companies are able to spread the workload more. It helps increase code quality and quality of life for everyone working there. Also part of current employee numbers is hiring to keep up with projected growth etc.

If everything was so easy to build we should all quit our jobs and do our own single developer startup.

~12 years ago Android and iOS were at the bare minimum to be considered a phone by making a call and having the basic necessity apps.

It takes time to build something from scratch. Especially the way Purism is building it without proprietary hardware and firmware blobs.

Maybe we should discourage everyone from learning programming when they first print "Hello World"?
