did you use AI for your site because it ain't loading... so based on the title... I have no problem with people using them to help their memory, and if they kept it local, but I have a problem with monopolistic and exploitative companies with private data, that likely ends up in a govt db.

ooohhh nooo... anyway...
interesting. i'm appearing as a grey guy not the orange guy like your blog says
Friends don't let friends ise NPM
or linkedin
needs something for showing and copying simple terminal commands.
Kinda' ironic posting a service that promotes two types of casual subscriptions, inbox clutter, and "micro transactions"
if you read the article 2pb is available as flash storage in the data pipeline, used to dedupe, clean, normalize, etc, for training from 60pb of raw data.
unable, nah, more profitable for the ads business. Yea.
The fact that some of the domains lapsed is wild, bit.ai has got to worth a bit. But I also checked a handful of the lapsed domains, they aren't lapsed, eg airfront.ai is still active
"The National Security Agency has also recently used Anthropic’s Mythos model to assess vulnerabilities in the U.S. government’s software, people with knowledge of the work said."
I'm sure that's not the only thing they've used it for. Definitely looking for any exploit they can use to enhance data gathering, and cracking into IOS, private networks, etc. Gotta keep an eye on citizens, but hey, it's the only government body that really listens you.
at this point it almost seems like citizens should review AI models before the government can access them.
re there polymarket bets on if gitub will be up or down today yet?
That's absolutely awesome!
No one reads my tech blog, it absolutely is for me.
some of those fans need to be replaced, sounds like a lot of bearings going
there was a time when tech companies gave bug bounties. Now it's fuck you, we vibe coded this slop, and we love it. Oh we emailed your company, ran massive marketing campaigns in the media to pitch replacing you.
as a t-1 diabetic, this is exactly what we do for nearly every meal we eat, especially in restaurants, look at it and try to estimate the number of carbs.
This has very little to do with someone making the LLM too human but rather a core limitation of the transformer architecture itself.
It has almost everything to do with it. Models have been fine-tuned to generate outputs that humans prefer.
I've never hit that one, do you have a lot of `ToDo`s in your code comments?
"median star count at seed is 2,850" lower than I would have expected, but than again, I've maybe only had 20+ stars on my repos
- I think the zero follower account might be the weakest signal of a low quality account, I think I had zero followers for maybe 5+ years.
are they? or are they running, spam, ecommerce throw away culture? overreaching government data collection? lots of porn as well.
wow, I remember a time when hacker news had at least seemingly intelligent people and valid arguments.
bitcoin is forecast to uses about 150 TWh of electricity this year vs all other datacenter operations foretasted to use 1000 TWh. Bitcoin is esitimated to be about 52.4% sustainable energy (renewables plus nuclear) where datacenters are 42% sustainable energy.
I did something similar, but killed my old WP blog. played around with 11ty, sveltekit, i eventually settled on hugo.
considering the bunny.net site crashes, and fails to load with timeouts, good luck with that. Unfortunately having a monopoly in a CDN is kind of a benefit.
Yea, but not a bad reminder to ridicule people who wear them, and if possible destroy on site.
And we're stoked!
100% i've been using paper notebooks since I started coding
I do like that idea of allowing flexible component rendering, especially if you're building a your own app with chat UI. The one problem would be like always standardisation, will chatUIs need to be like browser and follow standards? Or do they need to render JS, CSS, HTML as a component? What freedom do chatUIs allow the components?
Even so, ask, what's the end goal of the user? Does it even make sense to worry about UI if we're think autonomous agents that sole goal is to accomplish something defined by the user?
Delete!
I was wondering about that the other day, the sheer amount of code, repos, and commits being generated now with AI. And probably more large datasets as well.
