Hm it depends how much the user tweets about these topics, if at all. I'd probably say ~5k and you'd start getting decent results.

I built this in 24 hours to test that I could do it. The code was not meant to be pretty, it wasn't meant to be reusable. It was made as a "hack". I use hacker not to portray myself as a systems-infiltrator but in the sense of hackathons and building things quickly and roughly. If this was meant to be a finished project of course the code would be much cleaner, however the class does the job and that was what I intended to build with this, a POC.

Still a private API. I can imagine finding an unusual account like mine is quite simple and wouldn't need automating.

I'd imagine they already have the code for a similar service.

I can agree with you, I understand why I was banned and I can see it is a valid response to the situation. I just want to make sure (if Uber have read this) that they understand why I did it and what caused the spike.

Yeah, no worries, I completely agree this is not Uber's fault at all. Their reasoning is more than valid.

I feel that I should keep it up just for reference and educational purposes. This was in no way an attack, but a mere hack that was created in 24 hours. It was not intended to be damaging to the service, although I do take responsibility that it was.

I completely agree with this, I acknowledged this and realised I would probably get banned. It was more a case of letting people see how the Uber api could be used, that's why I've now replaced it with a video so people can continue to see it.

I completely agree with why they banned me, it's a huge load to throw on the server. Although I'd love to be unbanned and use it again, I would be surprised if I was.

Currently looking for an internship for the summer, Uber would be one place I'd love to work. Unfortunately I'm not sure I'd be allowed in anymore!

I know why Uber banned me, they probably don't want people knowing how to access their data. This is not a reason I approve of but I can see their reasoning.

The reason I'd like to apologise is because of the above, if they feel I have harmed their service (although I feel it was more beneficial to them in advertising it) then I'd apologise.

Didn't seem to be phrased like that but thanks for the info :) think because everyone was at school and it wasn't a holiday it was less busy!

Unfortunately this wasn't the case, my friend (never visited America) didn't have to go through this, only me.

Every time I've travelled internationally, even before I was 16 I've not had this problem (being completely alone meeting someone) therefore I was quite annoyed to be detained for this long and be met by someone who kept probing me for information when he could clearly see I'd got this far and had all require d information.

It felt like I was wasting the second TSA agent's time being there.

Perhaps terrible is the wrong word, but it still wasn't a very welcoming experience and left me feeling quite angry/upset for the remainder of that day.

The TSA agent was incredibly rude and didn't seem to want to listen to any part of my explanation, he could see I had a note from my mum saying I would be visiting with my friend so I don't see why I would have to be detained for a while.

Terrible was more of a personal opinion because I've never experienced airport security like this in my life, I've been asked when I arrive who I'm meeting etc but not detained or anything.

That is because of the load of the Uber server. Also afaik (the api doesn't explain) it only shows available cabs, i'm currently seeing around 20 in London.
