It was a transflective memory LCD, which Pebble marketed as "E-Paper" (not the same as E-Ink)
Rebble is the open source infra that has been keeping Pebbles alive since ~2016. See: rebble.io and https://github.com/pebble-dev
(Disclaimer: I'm part of the team)
RePebble is a new thing by Eric, the original founder of Pebble and is unrelated to Rebble.
Is Rebble making hardware as well as RePebble?
Potentially! We have always talked about it, but some of the announcements today have thrown us for a loop so plans are still being discussed.
Is RePebble also open source and community owned like Rebble?
Remains to be seen, but if I had to guess it's unlikely.
Looks like it changed a month ago:

Funny that the L in ldap stands for lightweight, and yet clearly there is interest in a lightweight version of what has become a somewhat bloated protocol.
Do you exit the vpn in the UK, or somewhere else?
As of Android 14 you cannot install apks if the sdk target version is too old. You must use adb with a special flag.
Not for me (UK)
Looks like it's been hugged to death. Archive.org link:

We'd love to offer something like that, but there's all kind of considerations around liability with repairs. Plus we're entirely run by volunteers, and watch repairs take a lot of time.
That being said, a store for refurbed Pebbles might be doable, but it would be a big time and cost overhead.
The actual number of Pebble users is likely far higher, this is just the count we get from our side at Rebble.
There are more Pebble users out there using Gadgetbridge for example.
The first episode of the US office is pretty much a shot-for-shot remake of the first episode of the UK office. After that they diverged a fair bit.
Why?
Arguing for electron on hn? Brave.
(I like electron fwiw, it's enabled me to have a desktop experience with applications that would've otherwise never come to linux)
I have a Onyx Boox Note Air, and it's amazing for reading / writing. I have an SSH app on it (it's Android) and the experience starts to fall apart there. I can type significantly faster than it can refresh and render the characters.
That being said I'm sure there's some magic you could do to reduce latency here if you tried. I know it does some magic behind the scenes with the drawing to improve responsiveness.
Perhaps most interesting is the .canon tld
Timeline is a (mostly) supported feature on Rebble!
Check out rebble.io/howto to get started. If you have any questions we're on Discord[0]
you can then use either TOTP or Email (if you specify both, it will default to using TOTP) to login thereafter to make things quicker (it can take up to a minute until profiles update).
I guess at this point it's more like login with loginwithhn?
Without a polarised plug it means current can 'flow' the 'wrong' way through the toaster, backwards through the heating coils.
Which is to say when the toaster is plugged in but off, the heating coils could still be live, and touching them would shock you.
I like this quote:
21 million bitcoins seems like a low limit to set. According to [0] the exchange rate is currently 221 Bitcoins per USD, so the total value of all possible bitcoins is only 95000USD.
Today 95000USD is worth 1.51BTC
Yes
Correct
Have you seen beeper?
Perhaps it's 'allah'?
I know you said you don't want a replaced battery, but if you were interested in doing the (fairly easy) battery replacement yourself, there's a link to where you can purchase a battery on Aliexpress here:
Pebble may be long gone, but there are plenty of people still using them with 90% of the functionality still intact!
Nothing from Youtube officially yet. Probably BGP.
They're referring to /r/wallstreetbets
Hopefully Southampton can get it's shore power[0] sorted, the cruise ships idling are more a pollution problem than the busses.
