I got laid off, then got tonsillitis which turned into quinsy. Three days in hospital, then got Bells Palsy. I’m meant to be resting and recovering but the job search is always on my mind. Not doing great.
This is all good but how do you deal with someone that just wants to win and not discuss?

If the debt's interest rate is low (as it is in many situations where spreadsheets are used for long periods of time), then you might never need to get rid of it. If it has a high interest rate (not scaling or working well given the current work load), then it's time to move over to specialized software.

I'm beginning to think that collective distributed satellite offices is going to be big. Like WeWork but for companies to house their local staff and far less culty. Would help if they had standing desks, folding treadmills, three screens and everything else for a superb dev experience that is a bit of a pain to set up at home.

True, but the fact that technology is going to reinvent everything, including work seems to be an oversight. I'm not sure an old school factory owner is going to attract the best people in a highly skilled industry
It seems that Musk at this point is completely unaware that he is a walking contradiction.
On one hand, he is a technologist. Forward thinking and driving towards the future.
On the other hand, he is an old fashioned factory owner. He views his workforce as pure labour and can't accept that he can't force his employees to work under his total control. He also can't accept the gain in life capital for his employees in working from home for his workforce and that the future of work for humanity is probably decentralised offices and WFH, not middle managed, over the shoulder, supervised, centralised offices.

I went Miryoku on 36 keys, learnt to touch type and it’s honestly been the best thing I’ve done for my coding. I know it sounds extreme but I feel like never having to look at the keyboard means I stay in flow and make fewer mistakes.
It wasn’t that hard to learn. Time investment of about 30 minutes/3 times a week for about six month.

HN being text only is the number one reason (imo). I think the shift of internet content going from text->images->video has pulled the internet away from it's original purpose, communicating text and the written word. And HN still has that original essence.

I feel your pain. I would pay a lot of money for a portable low profile split kb with good trackball. Maintaining my own is fun but a bit onerous
