So far SDD (Spec Driven Development) with openspec hit the right balance for me, the Workflow is not too heavy while execution still churning good result given the spec is done well.

GigaOm was one of the early publications that my younger self enjoy to follow, it was a good formative years. Later I knew when it got acquired that the OM of GigaOm was from its founder.
rest in peace
Totally agree witg the general assessment. The biggest problem with Z.ai model for a long time is not quality, but the inference speed and general capacity availability. Hopefully with this recent hype, there will be more provider on openrouter for 5.2.
I'm so impressed with their support, very proactive and easy to reach. Whenever I had issues, they're always there to help.
They could just call it anything else and left the existing user alone. I mean they have gemini CLI, which I would say a better product.
It's not even good, honestly. I was using it for couple weeks before dropping that 2 months ago. The model was not good and slow, the harness was not good, the IDE was subpar vscode clone. If IDE still important for your Workflow, Trae of Cursor offer much better interface, harness and plan.
I want a good AI integration with Firefox. The current chatgpt shim is horrible, something more refined would be nice.
The modern evolution of this lives long on the bus around Indonesia, in the form of telolet.
Funny that I thought the biggest improvement of PS5 is actually crazy fast storage. No loading screen is really gamechanger. I would love to get xbox instant resume on Playstation.
Graphic is nice but not number one.
I've been using it for couple years now, it gives me feeling of stability even when moving across devices.
Now what to do? Android apps is rarely a thing that you download once and use for multiple years.
For just another chromium skin, I prefer vivaldi as it has more traditional offerings than brave. While having more customizable ui.
Enjoyed the article.
How do you compare to ccache as this is my go to cache library. Well the need is mostly on high traffic endpoints, so LRU it's.
He is actually quite active on X, and writing his book [1] on the journey. I actually enjoy his insights too many time than I'd want.

The vibe of AI discussions was so much different with today's (or at least for the past 2.5 years at least). It's quite surreal how things moved so fast
I would say compute and storage separation is the way to go, especially for hyperscaler offering ala aurora db/cosmos/alloy. And later more opensource alternatives will catch up.
Ty will have lower barrier of entry, similar to the early days of Typescript.
I'm curious to see which way the community will lean to.
I noticed that Sonnet 4 likes to use code search tool in cursor. Probably giving model option of tool to use is not bad thing to do.
Working with AI centric IDE on the mature codebase needs different skill set that I suspect related to people management. As the pattern would be describing a problem well, making a good plan, delegate and giving feedback.
On the other side, getting a good flow is not trivial. I had to tweak rules, how to describe problem, how to plan the work and how to ask the agent. It takes time to be productive.
Eg. Asking agent to create a script to do string manipulation is better than asking them to do inplace edit. As it's easier to debug and repeat.
Not really my case. Found that Codebase with good code benefit more with LLM, but it's not the prerequisite.
I just rewrote 300ish advanced PostgreSQL queries to mysql queries. The process is not magical, but it will take me 1 week rather than 3 days. Now I'm on testing phase, seems promising.
The point is if we can find a work to work along with the agent, can be very productive.
No offense. Has been years I don't see people using NetBeans. Made me check the website, surprised that the latest release is like just yesterday.
Dozens of AI powered IDE forked from VSCode impacted. Now is the right time for better managed openVSX, more collaborative efforts.
Seems they also are not coming PR. Sus
Is there kinda gui builder for web?
Is there any example how an agent can interact with MCP? I imagine it will replace / complement Tools interface.
Cost is cost wherever that would be.
Oh that softmodem that only worked on windows.
UI is most common interface but not particularly AI friendly, i'll wait for more standardized interface that's both human and AI friendly. Hoping it will still br a browser based.
One thing particularly not clear to me is weather ios scan all data in the phone and send it to be part of public index or not. I see from how the feature works from the UI it seems it's not. If the feature activated by user action does this still constitute as phoning home?
one third nor $137M seems like small thing, this dig is a bit weird.
As stated in the release that Elon gave Hundreds of Millions dollars to the non profit, it's 1/3 of the early raised fund. So is it basically he gave away money for (ultimately) start up with no benefit for him?
Or is it just another tax magic stuff for him?
