Author here - thanks for the kind words. I mostly agree with your comment, the problem is less of not being able to achieve targets and more of the number of targets increasing as you get more and more ideas to add to something. Do start a blog, it's really fun!

(Author here) Yeah, most of my personal projects don't fall in the never-ending category either, this writeup was more about the ones that do because you get so many ideas as you work on them that you keep working on them.

I desperately want a project like this to take over my life for a few months. I'm in grad school so am juggling job hunting with coursework and other part time job duties, but I miss the feeling of giving 100% of my time and energy to one thing.

Agreed. Now if I have a TV show I haven't seen, I check if I've already downloaded it years back and watch the downloaded version rather than stream it. I can't trust streaming services to show me anything as it is, ever since Netflix removed the Community episode with blackface (it was parodying blackface, that was the point).

I think the point being made is that remembering is a huge if not key aspect of learning anything, and people underestimate the importance of memorization. Maybe that title is a bit misleading, could've been "No serious learning can happen without memorization" but that doesn't flow as well.

100%. After I'm done with my last draft I always read the whole thing loudly, and end up changing at least a word or two in every paragraph. Usually it's the small stuff - eg. using "he instead went" instead of "instead he went" because my brain expects a sentence a certain way that "flows" well and I've written something else.

There's also a guy who plays in Times Square in the evenings who's really fun to talk to. I've played him twice and lost badly both times, but one day...

Agreed. Therapy is not a practical option for everyone, though it now makes me curious enough as to why the author insists upon it so much.
