The org I work on develops HTCondor. We have a lot of scientists that end up running alphafold and other bio related models on our pool of GPUs and CPUs. I am curious to know how and why your team implemented yet another job scheduler. HTCondor is agnostic to the software being ran, so maybe there is more clever scheduling you can come up with. That being said, HTCondor also has pretty high flexibility with regards to policy.

NSF’s TIP Directorate announced Tech Labs, a new program to fund full-time, independent research teams outside universities and industry. The goal is to tackle technical bottlenecks that traditional grant cycles and institutional structures struggle with. Teams would receive multi-year, milestone-based funding and autonomy to push early concepts to commercially viable technology.

Hey I didn’t mean to show confusion when I was writing. I more meant to write this article as exploratory. When I say Web X.0, I am referring to an era of the internet. I refer to Web 3.0 as the new emergent era with decentralized systems. I appreciate your feedback and I understand I’m not the most qualified to speak on internet history.

Hey thanks for the feedback! What I meant by the first statement was that these systems are immutable. For example, IPFS stores any files permanently and they can’t be modified.

Thanks for this perspective. I hadn't really considered large scale usage. In my class the team sizes are just 4 members so it feels quite pointless for this scale. But know thinking about it, it makes sense to have a project management system in place.
