I think Mozilla is doing really important works incl. Firefox, Thunderbird, Llamafile and so on. I use them heavily and I want to keep supporting their works. However, their management keep doing shitty things like this.

I don't believe that privacy and advertising can coexist. I use Firefox specifically because I don't want to see ads, yet Mozilla is trying to push ads, which is a glaring contradiction. I'm worried that this could lead to their eventual disappearance in the future.

I attended several talks hosted by financial institutions, because I also in the industry. Unfortunately, I found that their presentations were somewhat high-level and abstract. It seemed as though the primary purpose of these talks was recruitment, rather than sharing their valuable expertise or experience, which I could easily expect given the industry's tendency to be secretive.

On the positive side, I also attended a presentation by Mathworks, which I found quite informative and easy to digest.

Agreed. I have a shiba dog, and he is super cute!

However, I have to take him out for walk more than an hour EverySingleDay. So, I have to spend more than 400 hours a year, i.e. 4000 hours for ten years. To be honest, spending 4000 hours is enough for making you a semi-professional in any fields. So, I don't recommend having a dog, unless you are literally CRAZY about dogs.

I started learning some Rust, just begging of this yeae, and I am starting to think learning C might be the shortest path to fully understand the motivation of ownership model.

But at the same time, I don't want to invest so much time into learning a language which I probably am not going to use.

I am probably being disrespectful. I understand a lot of people use C, including Linux kernel devs, but I cannot imagine developing new apps with an old language such as C.
