It's wild how locally variable the sea level surface is. I worked on a study that incorporated local sea levels into a bath-tub style sea level rise model that that also incorporated storm surge using ADCIRC modeling, and we tried to account for local land subsidence and uplift rates... anyways.

Go to More Data > Datum, you can see just across a 20 mile stretch of bay, Bishops Head MD MHHW (Mean Higher High Water, when there are two daily high tides, this is the elevation of the higher of the two) is 2.06 Feet over the vertical datum, while 20 miles away at Solomons Island MD it's a half foot lower, 1.48 Ft.

For our (frontend) Lead Software Engineer, we need someone with significant experience in Vue/Nuxt. Our application is built on Vue2/Nuxt3, all in TypeScript. The ideal candidate will be very familiar with Vue2 and Vue3 (or, at least, very interested in the upgrades available in Vue 3 and a strong interest to help a team move towards it). Experience with Electron and Capacitor.js is also a huge plus.

This person will be comfortable balancing coding, mentoring, and helping shape the direction of our product. Our company is fully remote. You must be comfortable working asynchronously as we are spread out across timezones. You must have experience developing large Vue frontends and identifying/fixing bottlenecks and helping define and move towards best practices. A tech-literate business person who is around the same life stage as me (or are sympathetic/able to work with people in different life stages), if I were looking.

For 5 years of real support you will need to just get the pixel 6 when the roms you are interested in are ready. Graphene, Calyx, and Lineage will support it, but it might take a few months for their teams to get up and running. They are all very fast though.

Graphene and Calyx only support the devices as long as google is putting out the security updates, so all the phones before the 6 will only get the ~2/3 years that Qualcomm limits updates to. I am not sure how lineage is able to support devices for so long after vendors stop supporting it themselves. They are a super dedicated community of volunteers, though. [Here](https://grapheneos.org/faq#legacy-devices) is where Graphene talks about why they drop support after vendors don't officially support the device anymore

Of these projects Calyx and Graphene are the easiest to install. Graphene you only need a chromium browser and to allow unlocking your bootloader in the developer part settings, and over webusb the whole wipe, install, and flashing of their key so you can re-lock it. Calyx has a script you download to do the same. Lineage is a hair more involved.

These laptops are very impressive, but until there is clarification on their CSAM scanning plans/their future intentions with that, it's going to make me wait. The thought of my OS being integrated with ANY government database with only the assurances of 'trust us, we will say no' still repels me.

At this point I am interested in pretty much anyone's perspective other than his. He bashes crypto, he makes money, his company builds something using crypto, he makes money. Just like his bank he is too big to fail and serves no one's interest but his own.

As a developer, I write code on a daily basis. So I often read docs. But I rarely need the docs visible at the same time I’m writing code. I read the relevant doc, then code.

I am the opposite of this, especially using manpages or the api docs and when I jump around to new things.
