I haven't had a flip phone in a while (or any phone for that matter), but I think flip phones are probably my favorite type of phones. They look sleek, you can easily check the time just by looking at them, and you can type without even looking at the screen. Cool to see flip phones getting more popular.

For a project i am working on, I've thought about egalitarian-based moderation (i.e people vote on moderation decisions, there is no specific 'moderators'). It could prevent admin abuse and make it so that you don't need to hire mods.

Yeah, I think a lot of history of the russo-ukranian war is not known by many americans. Many people didn't even know there was a war until the invasion. I remember tensions building up a few months before the invasion and some people started talking about it (I knew a political dude online who was talking about it a few months before, he was saying something about how things could go down. I wasn't really interested but now I realize he was right (except for him supporting russia tho)).

* Twitter users will massively migrate to a new social network (and it won't be Mastodon) Maybe I am being too optimistic but it kinda seems like that a big chunk of twitter refugees will move to Mastodon. Maybe not all of them but a lot, like how right now Mastodon is slowly entering the mainstream as sites publish articles about it and many users are already switching to Mastodon. And how the other Twitter alternatives are barely talked about but Mastodon is being brought up as an alternative all the time.

As someone who used ChromeOS for a year or so, I think its kinda cool that mainstream people are using Linux, but 1: They don't know they are using Linux. Most users dont even know what Linux is. 2: Not open source. 3: Not privacy respecting.

Yeah, i am pretty distrustful of any "news" website still reporting on low-hanging fruit such as trans swimmers.

tbh I would only trust it if the software worked so that they wouldn't be able to abuse it for tracking (i.e not centralized). Although i am not sure how you would implement that in a geolocation tool.

He's been concerned with this type of stuff for a long time. There are plenty of articles about him talking about the NSA, tech giants, etc. I think he created a social media platform a few years ago as an alt to facebook.

Having opinions on dystopian armed robots != being a bad organisation. Also isn't being pro-privacy an agenda too? They have always opposed the US government.

Tor sites do all of this still. I like browing onion sites from time to time, typically personal sites. It is resemblant of the wild west days of the web, except most onion sites are for drugs.

It could tie into how neoliberal establishements are failing and people are looking for alternatives (which could be the reason that nazism is suddenly more popular). But yeah, I was pretty suprised seeing this post.
