When I got my Pixel 7 Pro I was shocked at how bad the battery life was, even without google play services. (came from a 5a) I love the phone, but the battery life makes me regret my purchase almost every day.
Then my coworker got the Pixel 8 Pro, and it has WAY worse battery life than my 7 Pro, he even went and got a new one at the store because it was so bad it had to be a fault, but no. It just is absolute garbage.

That is the weird part, it happens on all my various machines. I have an RDNA2 laptop, KDE is sluggish. I have a 3900x+2080Super desktop, KDE is sluggish. (Though that's nvidia so..) Even my 5950x+7900xtx desktop, KDE is sluggish.
I really do not understand it, it's almost as if KDE just runs out of sync with my heads internal fps.
Same issues on both my nvidia desktop, my amd desktop, and my amd laptop. I definitely first suspected nvidia, since well, it's nvidia. But I wouldn't have the exact same issues on other machines without nvidia as well then..i hope
Yeah I really don't understand it. There really has to be something wrong somewhere because I can't imagine KDE actually being as bad as I experience it, because absolutely nobody would be using it if so.
To me my favourite is xfce by far, it is so simple and fast without being too simple where it becomes an inconvenience. But, I need wayland so Gnome and KDE are the only really good alternatives for now. (Yes I know there are plenty of alternatives like sway, enlightenment, etc etc but no.)
I really do wonder what I do wrong with KDE every time I try it.. I see people write stuff like this, but my experience is the complete opposite. KDE is the most sluggish horrible mess for me every time I try it, it feels like a game constantly fluctuating between 15 and 25 fps when interacting with it.
Gnome on the other hand has never missed a beat, despite having it's issues needing solved with extensions. Performance wise it's always been 10/10, even on my 3x4k setup.
Wish I didn't need wayland, because I really just want to go back to xfce..
I mean, no more than getting things from apkmirror/apkpure? This is just an easier way of doing it.
Personally I mostly just use it with github, and checking the integrity of those apks is easy enough.
Have you looked at Obtainium? https://github.com/ImranR98/Obtainium It can use apkmirror and apkpure as sources. Along with lots of others.
I did this with EA actually, I was banned for no reason from Apex Legends, EA support told me it was an EasyAntiCheat ban, but I wasn't banned from other EAC games which made me suspect that wasn't true. When I googled around I found screenshots showing that the ban message ingame would have the text "Banned" after the default "client banned" message.
I contacted EAC who confirmed I was not EAC banned, I informed EA of this and just got the default "We cannot discuss bans blah blah" reply. I then ran a GDPR data request, and after 3 weeks I got a massive dump of all my info, which included the ban reason. The ban reason was N/A, not blanked out or censored, just N/A from the data dump. I raised this with EA and they just kept telling me they can't discuss bans etc. I managed to get it escalated eventually via a complaint which lead to my account being unbanned and I got it confirmed that it was an erroneous ban.
I have done this for recommendations, and it now only shows videos I have recently watched, usually the 3-4 previous videos I watched.
If I click on anything I wouldn't usually watch, it is then the only thing that goes in my recommendation for a good 2-3 weeks. I watched one dashcam video the other day that someone linked me, which had the tags Tesla and Elon Musk.... Now the only thing I get in my recommended is incredibly strange videos about Elon Musk and Teslas.
I know this gets asked a lot and isn't really about this new upgraded model but..

I have an email address that I've only used for official things, and it was used by an employer as my contact email for pension savings with Santander.
I've had the address for 10+ years and never gotten spam. The same day I got an email from Santander about being signed up for pension there I started getting lots of spam emails.
I've recently switched to GrapheneOS, and I had issues using my old banks app (DNB, Norwegian bank) but my current bank (Sparebank1, also Norwegian) works perfectly on GrapheneOS.
I've also discovered that some apps that require safetynet, can be grabbed from the Huawei store and used, because apparently on chinese phones your bank suddenly doesn't need safetynet to be secure.

I've seen some extreme builds way past 500hp too, but those tend to be more show car type builds.
You can actually quite reliably get 450-500hp out of a 2.3 redblock without even spending that much money, redblocks are notorious in tuning communities for this, almost like the 2JZ of Sweden
I've seen plenty of the B230 motor (2.3L) tuned to high 500hp so that is definitely not a problem.
It is definitely not legal, but does happen very occasionally.
The issue is that 15 year olds are just that, 15 year old kids.
I don't live in Sweden, but in Northern Norway and go to Umeå, Skellefteå, Luleå etc a lot, and I have to agree that these are actually an absolute menace.
I am personally a car person and absolutely love the idea of an EPA in general but I've seen both crashes from them going dangerously slow (30kph on E4an, a motorway where everyone does 120-150kph) and also 250-300kph trying to outrun the police because it's a 15 year old that panics when they see the police because they were going slightly over 30kph, and conclude that flooring their overtuned Volvo 740 and escaping the police is the only thing they can try to not get a license suspension when they become 18.
Can you not grab the game with Aurora Store? Or does the game require Google Services?
I personally very rarely actually go check out what is linked on HN, due to mostly using it on internet connections with very restricted speeds.
I also know a fair few people in my social circle that do the same, HN is the goto "I need good content that doesn't zap 100mb of data in 3 minutes" place
Remember I told you the phones were "randomly" generated? The python script would randomly generate an 11 letter "phone number".
Author says "phone number" and 11 letter(?) IMEI is 15 digits, so who even knows what the author means at this point.

You should be able to get GCam via Aurora Store by setting the spoofing to a Pixel device, but newer versions of GCam check for something that cannot be spoofed with an app (issue #22 in above github) so you have to get a modded GCam app if you want to user newer versions and use an android rom that does not spoof this.
Seems unrelated to their infrastructure, the DNS records for facebook.com, instagram.com, whatsapp.com and all derivative domains are wiped clean it seems
edit: though saying that, they do run their own registrar... Might've fucked something up over there.
