Saying an article is of inferior quality just because editing was AI-assisted is like saying a book is lower quality just because it was printed rather than written by hand

Because what getpid returns can change during the lifetime of a process, if it moves to a different PID namespace. I guess updating the vdso every time that happens is not worth the little gains.

I think the killer application of Strava is segments. Even without caring about being the quickest of all users (aka getting KOMs), I find it valuable to be able to compare my progress on a specific piece of road over time. Paired with your heart rate and perceived effort it allows you to gauge how fit you currently are - or how far you are from your peak form.

I understand your point, but millions sounds an exaggeration- I have a hard time believing a single node can handle millions of concurrent users

Making smaller and atomic commits makes them more easily reversible.
