I would expect the guy who found an issue with GitHub to report it to them. Yes, the rails people could have, should have.. But they explicitly asked "him" to report and there is no word on whether he did it or not.

What Rails have done is to have a particular default (whose correctness can be debated) and document how it can be exploited and how to safeguard from it.

You did that with https://github.com/rails/rails/issues/5239 and not https://github.com/rails/rails/issues/5228 as far as I can tell. I was responding to the comment that made it look like the Rails team closed your issue 5228 and you had to re-open it.

Just to be clear, he did not reopen the issue.

In Snapier, it will be better if you have a message why you are asking for emails. More importantly, provide a message which is a little more than "Thank you very much" when I enter my email. Though I got an email within a second, it will be more user friendly to give a "We'll connect back soon" in the site itself.

Also, in the email you mention 'check us out on Twitter' but fail to provide the twitter id.

Just my two cents. If any of that sounds badly phrased, I blame the clock for showing 3 AM. Cheers :)

Yes, I saw one in a link posted above. Definitely out of line. No second thoughts on that. If the ban had happened in reply to one such post, it would have been unquestioned by many.

Feedback:

When showing the list of recommendations, keep the form with the inputs on top, so that I can change my option right there and see the next set. Going back (honestly I had to search for that link) and choosing again is tedious.

Also, for some reason, the twitter user name was gone and I've to type it every time. But I guess that could be my browser, not sure. (Linux 11.04, Chrome)

Can you tell what would you have them do instead of going invite based? Also, considering the constraints that others have mentioned.
