We synthesise evidence on vaccine components, manufacturing quality controls, and regulatory standards that underpin safety, alongside data from randomised trials, post-authorisation surveillance, and active pharmacovigilance systems.

"synthesize???"

With almost 200 references and the use of "synthesize???" it sound like AI generated slop.

The article is behind a paywall in any case so why so many positive comments about it?

A feature that was possibly accidentally enabled on consumer chips is now being disabled.

Bro what are you smoking? The highly paid and experienced engineers designing these chips could have "possibly enabled" the feature on consumer chips.

The chips were designed with the feature as it is cheaper to do everything right from the get go and disable functionality rather than design a less capable chip then tack on the feature afterwards, just as the consumer versions of Windows are the server versions with functionality removed.

Why has HN become utterly useless as a place where meaningful discussions can be held?

A response concerning the model being prompted for information that could be used to aid cyberattaks ie - "Are there going to be bans on things that could be used to aid in school shootings next?" floats right to the top of the comment listings and the responses are quite irrelevant.

What is it with this place?

In the past I came to see what the comments about the articles were is hoping they would share more light on the topic. Right now they are totally meaningless.

Because ther don't have to keep switching from discussion client to discussion client or whatever tools the use for each project they are involved with, at the same time being distracted by adverts, geegaws, random emojis and other kinds of nonsense.

They are simply more efficient and more importantly censoring is done by the user themselves, not by politically motivated admins who ban discussions based on their ideologies and whims.

I find this interesting because my first awareness of a link between gastrointestinal problems and autism was in the retracted so labelled "fraud" paper by Andrew Wakefield et al in 1998 which noted a link between gastrointestinal disease and autism in the subjects of the study.

In fact it is the subject of the paper, not the MMR vaccine which was the cause of the "controversy".

If Lisp developers want a better editor and IDE they can support Lem.

VS Code doesn't provide the liveness and extensibility Emacs and Lisp developers enjoy in their environments.

Cars, those urban monstrosities the vehicles that weigh over 25 times their payload and take up 20 times the space on the roads.

Should I adjust the figures for American sizes?

Should I also add that they are engineered to travel at speeds over 120 mph and usually ply the trade environments where 30 mph is a dangerous speed?

Will the French government view open source software as software which should be well-funded and well structured, ie Blender level quality and organization, or are they going to underfund it and thus have it succumb to the shenanigans of Redhat, aka IBM, the infamous pushers of Gnome and Wayland?

OP Here:

This war is on its way to causing a huge energy crisis globally of the kind that happened in 1973, as headlines like these show

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBW-zXeaHTQ - France confirms oil crisis, says 30-40 percent of Gulf energy infrastructure destroyed

At least in this one the channel are leftist oriented enough to mention US and Israel at the start, never to mention them again, but listen to Christine Lagarde at 4:21 - None of us, none of us can resolve the uncertainty about how and when the Ukraine war will end and how the war in Iran will play out.

Note how she keeps the names of the aggressors out of the wars naming. In the former the Europeans wilfully cut themselves of Russian energy and in the latter the whole thing is out of their control. Question is how do you develop the proper mindset to fix problems when the root causes of the problem are kept out of the descriptions of the problems?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPInl-2qZks - Bangladesh fuel crisis deepens as war on Iran drives long queues and loan plea

Note how in the above video the narrator says at 0:23 - "The US/Israeli conflict with Iran is now disrupting global energy supplies"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VavXBDH7N0w - Philippines has '45 days of fuel left', declaring state of emergency from Iran war
