The app Too Long; Didn't Listen - is a podcast bookmarking app where you can make bookmarks of any show that's available openly via rss feeds. And you can discover new shows via bookmarks that other people have made.

Podcasts are openly available on RSS feeds, which is great but sadly there hasn't been any fundamental changes to the listening experience and all the podcast apps pretty much look and work the same. So here's my attempt at creating something completely different in the space.

Main features include:

- You can make bookmarks with a tap of a button.

- You can follow your friends and other top bookmarkers, it's social.

- The feed is inspired by tiktok. There are "following" & "featured" categories where you can see some of the best bookmarks and also see bookmarks from the people you're following.

- there's also a "subscribed" feed where you can see latest episodes from the podcast shows you're following + a grid view similar to pocket casts to see your subscribed shows.

- Another important feature is you can find new bookmarks via famous people. Ex: you can find all the episodes elon musk was in.

- You can make bookmarks from your existing podcast apps via the share extension

- you can also create your own categories

- oh it also has a very unique app icon ;)

searching the most relevant versions are painful! I spend a lot of time in Swift where Xcode automatically suggests the newer version/syntax but wish VS code & others did this too.

I feel this! I use GitHub stars more than I admit to, especially when it comes to unique libraries that I'll never find via google.

yep my solution was more signin with GitHub and choose your current project but VS code extension is a no-brainer!

yeah! the search engine should know what project you're working on. Seems like such a pretty basic thing that hasn't been built yet haha.

I think programmers spend a lot of time searching for solutions online and making that process more intuitive will be a huge win for everybody haha.

Built an app a few months ago to capture my stream of conciousness. The UI is like a messaging app where you can just send yourself messages and quickly organize them under tags.

Our of curiosity, how long did it take for your team to build this?

I know a lot of us here are self-taught but learning by ourselves can be intimidating and frustrating. So if you're struggling to learn programming, I'm launching an experiment where I take requests from you and connect you to engineers in my network. For example, if you have a request like, "I want to learn how to deploy my app on AWS" or "I want to learn to setup stripe on my web app" - I'll tap into my network and connect you to someone who has done that exact task and can help you out.

That's really cool! Did you have a vision for becoming an engineer or making your own products when you were starting out? Did that drive you? Or was it just the thrill of making stuff?

I completely agree with the project part. Funny, I started learning how to build iOS apps during the winter break of my first year at university too!

Would you recommend someone starting out to rather learn stuff on their own instead of going to a bootcamp? Also what do you think made their curriculum poor?

Problem:

1. It can be pretty hard to find more experienced people to guide you when you're trying to learn something new. Online resources are great but having a mentor can REALLY help at times.

2. If you're a creator/experienced person there isn't really an easy way to start teaching your skills to people in your community & potentially generate extra income.

Solution:

Build a strong community of creators who can help each other learn new skills. And a step towards that would be a website that connects creators with everybody else who is interested in learning. Like, Airbnb but for mentors (am I even allowed to say that?) Anybody who has a creative skill to offer can setup a page on Graam by filling in a few details. Once their page is setup, they can share it within their network, or wherever. It's like your own personal website but specifically tailored for teaching. If a prospective student finds this page, they can easily request a private session to learn from you.
