Arte is a French/German public TV channel (excellent one in my opinion). I guess this video is blocked outside these two countries (also available in Belgium, Monaco, Luxembourg, Austria, and Switzerland I think)

There's also lots of new apps like Yuka which try to warn you about bad ingredients. You scan the bar code on a food product then you get some summarized details and warnings.
Maybe there's something to do to make these privacy policies more comprehensible.
That's not really the SE I have in mind. My old SE has a 4" screen and the weight is around 100g ...

Used by many product checking apps. In France, Yuka seems to be the leader app ( https://yuka.io/en/ ). Yuka uses the open food facts database to fill its own datatabase. This kind of app is used a lot here to verify the chemicals in a product. It already started to force food companies to change their recipes and to remove bad chemicals they usually put into their products.

Actually it's pretty common to do 40 minutes of subway travelling in a big european city. It begin to be quite long but many people do it.
Comparing to a flat in my city Paris, France... Many people (student, young professional) lives in small flats like that. I lived in a flat like that. The price of a 25sq-meters flat (= 270sq-ft, the Kasita) is around 200 000 US$ . To rent one, it's around 850 US$/month I lived in London too. It's even more expensive.
Some scientists think they are quite intelligent animal and they can easily learn. The problem is they have to learn everything by themselves. I read that octopus doesn't transmit any knowledge from one generation to the next one. The mother put some eggs in a cave, protect them and then die once the babies hatch out.
I never heard about such a device but I have a Motorola LAPDOCK to control my raspberry. I guess the raspberry could be adapted to control a distant desktop (adding a wifi or bluetooth card, a battery of some sort and a VNC-like software)

Just a simple advice: When someone comes to you to offer you a "taxi" service everywhere in the world, be careful, it might be a scam. (One time, I've been robbed of all of my money in Vietnam accepting an offer like that) The best thing to do is to go to a taxi terminal or stop a car with TAXI written on it.

You are totally right. In the 20th century, France committed ugly things as well. In my previous post, I was talking about the recent period but Algeria is a good example what should be avoid. It's still a sensitive topic here, even 50 years after. I think it makes lose credibility and damage the soul of a country when this kind of episode happen. It's what our countries should avoid.

I can talk about something I know. I'm french. France got problem with islamic terrorism in the 90's. France is having problem with terrorism for the last 10 years. France has done two wars in the last 3 years (Lybia, Mali and still do stuff in Afganistan). My country is not the best country in the world but we did not end up with some terrible thing like Guantanamo ... I would say the same about many others european countries and it should be the same for USA. If you believe in human rights and dignity, what ever enemy you have to fight, you should not forget the values you are fighting for.

I've seen many time Unarchiver saying a archive was corrupted or was unable to decrypt with the right password. Now I use unrar in command line. (imported from macport) . Much better!
