In my view, it is a big problem for the fraud hypothesis because you have to explain why and how it was done.

Why is it hard to imagine the perpetrators just painted a model with red ochre and draped a cloth over him?

And you are misunderstanding the burden of proof, fraud is merely one possible explanation. Even if you show that its real blood instead of paint, how do you demonstrate that its not the impression of a dead medieval knight and was later mis-interpreted as a shroud of Jesus after the original creation was forgotten?

Those who would claim its actually the shroud of Jesus have the burden of proving it could possibly be old enough, that it could have been woven by peoples of that time, that the red ochre is actually blood, that Jesus actually existed, that he was crucified, and that he was laid in this shroud and its his blood.

And even then that doesn't show he was resurrected, or that he was divine, or a god, or anything to that effect. We have a ton of evidence Jesus wasn't, his own failed prophecy of the kingdom of heaven coming before the disciples passed, and his crying out for god on the cross.

Mostly we have the fact that the super active, super public god of the bible disappeared after all these stories were written and hasn't been seen since, despite claiming its the most important thing in the world that people know he exists. Essentially damning more than 90% of all the people who have ever lived to hell.

Sabotaging these pipelines would be bad news for Putin, removing his leverage this winter to try to reduce support for Ukraine.

Biden getting caught sabotaging this pipeline would destroy the critical European coalitions he spent so much time building.

Gas line works for years, then 6 months after removal of western technical experts and ending of cooperation with technicians running west end of pipeline (which article stressed were critical to clearing plugs like these safely) it goes tits up.

Putin is not going to blow up his biggest leverage over Europe during a cold winter, its his only chance at getting them to reduce support for Ukraine.

Your opinion is far more unqualified than a carefully researched blog.

If you don't think what he wrote is true, rebut him factually, random HN guy.

Biden and Nuland threatened to stop it using their political leverage, not force.

Sabotage would destroy the European coalition against Russian aggression they've worked so hard to build.

Really ludicrous conspiracy theory that makes an accident the most likely cause.

It's ludicrous to think Biden would green light an operation like this when he finally has a European coalition against Russian aggression helping Ukraine whin the war.

This would destroy that coalition in seconds.

The US finally has a coalition against Russian aggression in Europe, that is key to helping Ukraine win the war. Why would they throw this away on a stupid sabotage operation?

Putin doesn't care about contracts. He does care about having operational pipelines so he can use them as leverage with the west when Europe runs low on energy.

The US finally cobbled together a coalition to block Russian aggression, and the coalition is enabling Ukraine to win this war. Why would they want to destroy this coalition getting caught sabotaging pipelines in Europe?

Occcams razor says typical terrible Russian maintenance.

The west can't confiscate anything within Russia, and has already confiscated most of their foriegn currency assets.

The world isn't that complex. Putin needs these pipelines, they offer leverage when Europe runs low on gas.

Ludicrous.

Putin wants Europe to cave this winter and use the leverage of turning these pipelines back on to get them to stop suppporting Ukraine.

The idea that Putin or Biden would do this is so ludicrous as to be dismissable out of hand.

Putin needs the revenues from these pipelines once hostilities end. He was likely extremely hopeful Europe would cave this winter and he could use them as leverage.

Biden has finally gotten a coalition in Europe to take Russia's aggressions seriously and their combined efforts have Ukraine making great progress in winning the war.

"All relevant authorities on different sides of the conflict agree that this was sabotage"

So your entire argument is appeal to questionable authorities? What are their expertise with pipeline maintenance disasters?

How and why would an underwater demo team plant explosives 50 km apart? Why would they trigger explosions 17 hours apart?

If a hydrate plug is triggered to cause an explosion in one pipeline due to a specific temperature/pressure combination, how long would it take for a similar explosion to occur in another pipeline at the exact same temperature/pressure combination?

Problem is the scrollbars often don’t appear when needed, so user has no idea they are there. Worse, even when they appear, they sometimes disappear when you reach for the thumb to move many pages. It’s excruciating on documents with hundreds of pages.

Disappearing scrollbars also violate the original Mac UI principles, which were based on an enormous amount of human factors research.

The GME stock price is a derivative.

GME stock is a valid contract with a proportional ownership share of all GME tangible and intangible assets.

What crypto has the rights to any tangible assets? Even stablecoins are unaudited.

Good technical documentation needs dedicated technical writers.

Comments and internal docs can be handled by the engineers themselves, but turning that into an organized and properly formatted manual in a consistent style and voice for outside consumption is a specialized task that can’t be done piecemeal by the same people writing the code.

New Kits are always tacked on, there are few overviews to tell you how an entire area works.

I once spent days trying to update old AV player code get close captions working with Vimeo streams on iOS, half that time was just trying to understand how captions worked in AV streams at all.

Every time something like AV gets a new set of APIs, Apple should update a detailed overview that explains we used to do things this way, then added these Kits to make it easier to do these things and you should only use them for these specific things now, because we have now have added these new Kits to address these new needs, or make this other thing easier, etc.

And I’m sick of watch videos. Give me a high level overview of the why and how of the managers, and in it link directly to detailed documentation pages, sample source code and pertinent WWDC videos so I don’t have to use my Google fu to figure out those links myself.

“ There could just as easily be a Brock Turner in the woods seeing an incapacitated girl and fiddling around, except this time the victim would already be or about to be dead.”

You posited he could have merely raped the dying victim (semen isn’t left by “fiddling around”). I ask you again whether hit matters if he was a rapist-murderer or merely a rapist of bound murder victims.

Reasonable doubt doesn’t mean constructing convoluted scenarios to explain how he left his semen in her without raping or murdering her. Occams Razor falls very hard on the obvious answer here.

Hawaii is an unsinkable carrier itself. If the US lost its carriers at Midway, Oahu would have been host to a massive force of fighters and long distance bombers.

Any Japanese fleet unlucky enough to come within five hundred miles of Oahu would be subject to an unending stream of heavy US bombers like the B17 escorted by long range fighters such as the P-38.

There would be little chance of any surprise either with radar installations far improved and a vigilant picket line of US subs.

Landing troops without air superiority would have been impossible, and it’s unclear whether a Japanese carrier fleet could even hold off US battle ships if they sailed with US air cover.

To win that parley, land troops and push a large US Army force off Oahu is almost impossible. But even then, to raid the US coast with your remaining fleet, against an even more formidable air and sea defense many thousands of miles from any resupply would be a disaster for the Japanese Navy.
