The Omada line makes pretty decent AP’s too. A step above ubiquiti in terms of reliability but also dead simple. I’d have gone ruckus if I could have but the mailman stole my $200 eBay R550 score and I didn’t feel like shelling out $500 for one.

I actually picked up a refurb desktop from Walmart with a ryzen 3500 for $400, it runs basically everything without breaking a sweat. Proxmox running homeassistant, docker, my seedbox, media server, etc and it averages 3% CPU usage.

I did not know just how much heat a 16tb disk can put out up until that point though.

Has it gotten any better recently?

I run a node but I haven’t actually used it as a search engine in a while, as I found the result quality to be exceedingly poor.

I have a 14 MBP M1 16/512. It’s… not great. The other day photoshop was running super slow so I opened up process manager and discovered that not only had it eaten all 16gb of ram, it was also using up ~30gb of swap space. Even just general day to day safari use will give me random lags and slowdowns that I don’t get on my desktop which is running an i5.

Considering the disaster Gemini has been so far it may easily turn to being just as mocked as Siri is now.

Not to mention intel rapidly catching up in the $/perf calculation.

I just tried the latter with gab’s AI and it was excellent.

I have a few zooz Z-wave devices and a bunch of zigbee stuff.

The Z-wave devices turned out to be significantly more unreliable surprisingly.

The only z-wave device I still have running is my smart lock. Everything else has been replaced with zigbee.

Of those, 11 had not been previously detected in the river, and eight had not been detected anywhere outside of a lab.

Chemours, a renamed DuPont factory, has been caught dumping PFAS into the river before. Funnily enough, it was spun off partially in order to assume liabilities against DuPont from the various lawsuits they had against them for very similar reasons.

There are also multiple superfund sites along the river. Pollution has been an issue for decades and yet nothing ever really seems to change.

They will almost certainly settle, and very quickly in my opinion (also just a layman opinion however) because if Masimo is successful in forcing them to stop sales the next logical step would be to force them to disable the feature until a ruling is made otherwise.

Nor is Apple copying their tech the “kiss of death” that the article mentions, as Masimo makes primarily medical/hospital equipment. The majority of their equipment is sold to other businesses or through medical suppliers. Seeing as how they claim to own 90% of the hospital O2 monitoring market, I think they’re doing just fine.

Once again, this isn’t Apple stealing tech from Joe Shmoe. This is just standard legalistic BigCorp infighting, corporate backstabbing, brain drain/theft, etc.

Side note - I love the infant sp02 tape monitors they have, as they work incredibly well for use on adults with poor extremity perfusion. Earlobe usually works great.

Masimo is a $billions dollar company. The description of a “David and Goliath” battle is a tad misleading.

This is due to the simple fact that you can only carry so much AA ammunition and restocking ammunition on a ship takes significantly longer than it does on land.

This isn’t even touching on drones, both flying and boats, as well as torpedos and mines.
