Every Pycon has at least one talk on it and they are usually filled with a variety of tips and insights.
Prioritise by keynote speeches, recent ones, country level ones and then city Pycon.
I am facing this issue in the recent versions of Android Firefox where if I switch apps and come back, or lock and unlock the phone instantly leads to the page refreshing and scrolling back to the point where I was reading. This is quite frustrating as I have to keep the Firefox app always open or wait a frustrating amount of time for the page to completely load and scroll down. Some pages with progressive loading will take a huge amount of time for the page to completely re-download and if you scroll even slightly, the auto-scroll to where you last left is lost.
I can replicate it with just a single tab and I have excluded Firefox from all my battery saving and memory saving features.
I know of https://autonews.io/ mentioned before. They look unrelated but would you know of any connection except for their similar domain?

Seems to be the NYT has an array of pollution sensor IOT across the cities and they are using Freebird to control them. Just my guess.
Can someone please tell me what the name for the technology used to create the graphics is? The text for the place names over the image is highlightable.
I know you can handcraft these by having the text overlay over an exact X,Y on an image but that seems overblown for just these maps than having the text rastered into the image loaded.
So, is there some tool like an SVG creator that helps create these with the responsiveness and everything handled?

Whoever developed Gizmodo frontend probably never read any article on it. That's some really bad image load animation. That solid 1 second delay hardcoded in CSS + network delay for lazy loading just leaves the whole article a white canvas while I scroll.
Why would you want to re-hide the image after I scroll out of it? Scrolling back up gives me that 1 second penalty to make the image visible. So frustrating.
Does anyone have any production experience for Yahoo Vespa? I've heard it competes with ES in opensource search.
It was antivirus in my case. It has web scan feature that MITMs https sites locally. Disabling the feature made it "MITM unlikely".
