When we run Ubuntu on Android, we prefer UserLAnd over termux :)
As soon as there are arm binaries, we will make an app out of it :)
This actually runs vscode.
This is not the top of my list, but I am always looking at alternatives which can improve the way users interact with UserLAnd Technologies apps.
It is a pretty minimal install. I should probably put a web browser with it later. Thanks for the feedback. Please review it on the Play Store.
I didn't read thoroughly enough. I have not tried that one yet. It should work as many people use SSH from the UserLAnd app, which this is similar to. If you try it out before we do, remember that android blocks apps from using the first 1k ports, so you have to run ssh on port 2022 or something like that, instead of the normal port 22.
I will make a point of getting that working if it doesn't.
Yes. It supports extensions.
We will make this happen.
An option using code server is coming. Will be in the same app, just different launch option.
This is made by the makers of UserLAnd - Run Linux on Android. Looking for early feedback. If you want a promo code (first 500) please email support@userland.tech.
Checkout Thunderbird running on Android for real. This is not something else, this is the actual desktop edition.
We present to you BirdBox. Checkout Thunderbird running on Android for real. This is not something else, this is the actual desktop edition.
Btw... I have some promo codes. Please email support@userland.tech if you want one.
We have not tested on Chromebooks, but from what we have heard that it works for some and not for others. Our guess is it is dependent on the processor architecture. We will investigate this and fix any issue later.
If you are not familiar with GIMP. GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is not a Photoshop clone, but it is similar in that it is a powerful tool for photo retouching or image editing and authoring tool. https://www.gimp.org/
We released a version of GIMP for Android. It is really the full Linux edition, but running on your phone or tablet. It is FOSS and the source code can be found here: https://github.com/CypherpunkArmory/GIMP
Thank you. I had thought of helping refugees and let that thought slip away in my frustration. I think that is a great idea.
About blow-back, I have thought about that, but I am not worried. I am a bit of a nobody, especially in this. There are people doing much braver things than anything I will do. If some Russian bots or fanatics want to down vote my apps or whatever, so be it.
Not as cool as this :) but I recently released an app for running Minecraft servers from your phone. CraftBox: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tech.ula.craft...
UserLAnd already allows you to just install Debian and other distros on non-rooted devices.
Note: I am developer of UserLAnd.
UserLAnd is still getting updates on the Play store. It can run multiple distos without requiring a rooted device.

You can run Linux distros on non-rooted phones with UserLAnd. It is still receiving updates on the Play store. It uses proot intead of virtualization. I hope this new feature ends up being more accessible to people, but until then, I will try to make UserLAnd useful for everyone (I am the developer of UserLAnd).
Thanks! That is super cool of you.
Agreed. I will make sure others can build this. It is built on top of UserLAnd, but the build process does have a couple of extra steps.
