wireguard on windows and linux are extraordinarily solid at my org.

However, we have a lot of difficulty with macOS, seemingly with rather basic OS-level bugs that don't seem to be their fault: the big one is that a wireguard profile distributed by MDM for a system seems to work for the logged in user, but not for any other user. Seems to be a keychain issue.

While I don't expect any support, there does not seem to be a system to support getting pull requests reviewed and mainlined (including a PR that might address my need). Even tried IRC.

I absolutely remember encountering one of these at a friend's house. I clearly remember the detail about moving the pieces out of the way as needed to make moves. I do not remember the noise of the xy mechanism.

Solar allows one to prepay for power. Would be nice to see more efficient financing for it.

Using solar to heat and cool, heat water and run your dryer is quite a bit more. And generally doing the HVAC efficiently requires a large investment in insulation. Those non solar costs may dominate.

Happened to go for a walk with the corresponding author and made her repeat this fact for me.

Can confirm. It's excellent software, though getting going on your own server is not as smooth as, say, gitlab-ce.

This sort of high performance minimalism is precisely what makes the Mac app ecosystem great. Not because you can't write the same thing on other platforms, but because everyone who cares about it has condensed on the Mac platform.

Would love to see this adopt the document-based app API and the toolbar API.

You're conflating "selfwork" and homework. Doing the work yourself is indeed critical. It's the bit where you take it home when you're exhausted that is perplexing. Why can't we provide the time and space to do the self work at school?

It's generally unacceptable to demand that workers take assignments home to complete when they're exhausted. Perhaps it would be better to treat school more like work?

I am repelled by the notion that software requires a constant stream of tweaks to be healthy. If you look at the issues on GitHub, there are basically no open bugs there; it's all feature requests.

You can set a net or net class to have a set of geometric constraints suitable for a particular impedance or current or voltage. This matches or surpasses the capability of every other EDA software that I've used.

I also think it's unreasonable to ask EDA software for a full on FEM simulation. You wouldn't want to do that with the full board geometry anyhow.

Horizon EDA is a much better tool than Kicad. It is extremely well written on a modern foundation and as a result it doesn’t need the giant list of bug fixes that kicad constantly receives. Library management is the most fundamental improvement over kicad.

LibrePCB is also worthy of note and seems aimed at Eagle users. Also fundamentally more modern and solid than kicad.
