The caption on the photo is clearly wrong. No way the other two are Mitch Mitchell (not "Mitchel" (sic)) or Noel Redding, not at any time when Jimi was alive.

Even after The JH Experience, Noel Redding went on to do the band Fat Mattress, and he still had big curly/wavy hair, no moustache, didn't look or dress like an Arby's manager.

I'm pretty sure that's engineer Eddie Kramer at left. https://www.google.com/search?q=eddie+kramer.

No apparent way to submit corrigenda.

Text Editors Wiki 2 years ago

Here, "text editor" means Emacs or Vim, mostly Emacs. (No thanks.) Page last updated March 2024 but looks very 1990s.

it's very hard to write code anywhere that's not linux.

Oh nonsense -- in fact, bullshit. No, it is not. This is a personal problem; seek help.

Also I truly hate using windows or osx.

And we truly hate hearing about it, and how things don't work well on your platform of non-choice. So suffer it in silence please.

"To the man who has only a hammer, everything looks like a nail." Imagine, expecting Linux to provide a productive, frictionless music creation workflow, using programs that aren't exactly torture-tested for usability on the platform. I think you're supposed to be grateful/amazed that they work at all. (Not that the UX would be dramatically better or trouble-free on Windows or a Mac, using the same suite of apps.)

Are you his mom? agent? H himself? "a tad trollish" is really a hoot. So is the notion his upcoming book "has a good chance of becoming a bestseller": its commercial performance won't prove the worth of its ideas, just that there's an audience for pompous would-be eugenicists.

Such as the four composers named in the very next sentence. The platform gives each a playlist, while ignoring four other composers at least as worthy of attention, and named in the subsequent sentence.

Furthermore, Libre Office is not the slickest software, nor do they listen to their users. For about a decade people have been asking, Wth do you mean, I can't select multiple images in a doc and move them?! The team's response remains, You're not supposed to do it that way, you must first smush all your images down into one, then import and move that. This prescribes a waterfall model of doc creation; they're admitting Writer discourages experimentation and stifles creativity. Just a rotten UX and a rotten attitude. They should get better or get lost.

No. What the parent said. Learning how to write them puts knowledge of the glyphs' shapes in your body not just your memory. You will read them better too.

1920 Hz in my case. I had tinnitus after I got rear-ended at a stop light. Decades later, it still recurs once in a blue moon, lasts for a mere 10-15 seconds then vanishes when I tell myself repeatedly "nothing is playing 1920 Hz".
