The trade war might me a bit for something but I have been in china for nearly 7 years and I have seen habit changing quite a lot within the last 2 year.

Back in 2012-2015 when I was in the subway or with chinese friends, I was one of the few people who got an android smartphone. I even had few colleagues who were willing to spend 2 months salary into brand new Apple product.

Since 2 years ago, I have noticed a kind of Apple "fatigue" from chinese consumers who are expecting breakthrough from tech companies quite often. Why would they spend money on a new phone that nearly look like the same as the previous version? Sure there is this new "face unlock" but the finger print unlock works well.

No need to mention that the new measures pushed by the chinese government make the people more nationalist so if they want a brand new phone, they will look for local brands like Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi, etc... and they have really good phones for half the price of an IPhone.

The problem is that you are expecting too many things from women and why this word "marry" comes many times?

My advice now is not looking for a wife but for a girlfriend, make sure this is the right person before thinking about getting married.

From my own experience, I work in an IT company in China and most of my Chinese colleagues look socially awkward. They don't take care of themselves (wear the same t-shirt for 1 week or 2), they can't look at a girl in the eyes without blushing and so on. I am small compared to my friends and colleagues, I don't have the 6 pack either but I have learned to feel comfortable with women.

Don't blame on the society, only blame on yourself. I think your requirements are quite outdated and if you can't accept it, just go back to India.

Are you using 100 threads or coroutines? because 100 threads on a single machine will no give you nice performance at all.

I have started working a crawler in Go and each website to crawl can be configured via YAML files. The quantity of code written is a bit bigger than the python one made before, but a single micro instance on amazon is way enough to "read" few hundred websites every hour. Personally, I think the goroutine system is way easier to deal with compared to the Python one.

So if I was you, I would definitely give the IO processing to golang, and let python deal with the data processing.

Thinkpad X1 carbon 5th edition (Intel i5 / 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD). I have installed xubuntu 17.04 on it and it works like a charm and can easily use it for 7-8 hours.

Based on my own experience, when you want something cheap you will have to deal with unexpected downtime. In that situation, you may spend more money on redundancy, monitoring and time.

What do you mean by cheap, what price do you consider cheap based on your configuration?

I do use a lot vultr, instances are small and cheap, but I sometimes have reboots or maintenance issues.

I am french and I have been working in China (Beijing) for nearly 4 years, there is no doubt that shopping on the internet here is really convenient.

You like a product but you want to know more about it? OK, you can be in contact will the (re)seller in less than a minute without leaving the current website by using chat boxes.

My cart is ready and it's time to pay, let me grab my wallet, get my Credit card, start to type the 16 numbers... oh no, I just need to scan a QR code with my phone and it's done. I have a SMS that said everything is ok. By using a credit card, you have time to regret when you type the numbers into the form, but when you use a fast way like Wechat or Alipay you only regret and think that what you have bought is maybe useless few minutes after you paid.

The next early morning (I am not kidding, I have bought stuff at 3am and got my delivery at 9am the same day), I happily open my package but unfortunately, the size of the shoes is smaller than I thought. No problem, I call back my (re)seller and tell him to send me another pair of shoes which are a bit bigger. Then he sends back a delivery guy anywhere I want to get my painful pair of shoes back without asking anything. Afterward, I get the new ones in the afternoon or the next day.

The package logistic in this country is just amazing but I think it's because of the road/driving regulations that are not very strict in my own opinion. If you see some of those delivery guys driving, you would get crazy.

The fact that you can pay with your phone, fast delivery, no bargain to get a replacement product might help a lot. Did I mention that there are nearly no delivery fees?

If you have a look of taobao.com, tmall.com or jd.com, you can see that you have tons of suggestions, it's sometimes hard to only buy what you want. For example, when I ask my girlfriend to order a single new t-shirt for me, I know in the end that she will also get herself some new clothes as well. They target their customers in a very efficient way.

Python is not supported for front-end (yet??). So the choice is quite easy. If you want to stick a single language for both front and backend, using JS is the best solution.

It depends on what you want to do.

I work with Nodejs everyday, JavaScript is a very cool language but I still prefer Python which is easier to read from my point of view.

I don't know is there are any tools ready-to-use that can help you doing this. But if you have some knowledge about programming, you can look for some libs (for python, ruby, nodejs, shell, etc...).

Baidu Yun allow you to download some files through bittorrent. You just have to upload your torrent file then it will be downloaded on their servers.

I don't have a great connection at home but i can upload 6Go files from my computer with 1.5Mo/s or 2Mo/s to my BaiduYun personal storage, and i reach 3Mo/s per downloads.

It's quite common in china to use BitTorrent, and most of my friends downloads more than 10Go per day.

I agree that it must be about a marketing campaign but it's still incredible. I have already reach 1.5To, and i didn't have any email from them or warning.
