It doesn’t run any desktop apps yet though, only Safari and Photos and a few content apps. They also demoed mirroring only a single Mac display. I think people are overlooking this and expecting to get multi monitor displays for heavy workload apps like on the Meta Quest Pro, but Apple are committed as always to making this a standalone system.

It’s not trading anything, in which case the above still wouldn’t be true. It’s just answering financial questions, so if it hallucinates and tells you Tesla isn’t a public company 40% of the time then what’s the point? I’m using a very simple example here, I’m sure the model makes more intricate mistakes.

Given some of the behaviour we've seen thus far from OpenAI, I wonder how long it'll take before there's a breach and release of the weights, or a ransomware attack holding them hostage. Have we ever seen such financial potential concentrated in such a small private repository? I'm sure there are some examples, maybe the RenTech Medallion Fund's core model.

I’m not sure I agree with the statement of this sample being about a theory of other people’s minds. Socratic teaching is a well documented method of teaching and learning via conversational probing among other simple quirks.

In what way is Google scrambling to catch up? In my opinion PaLM-E is more impressive than GPT-4. Additionally Google do not have the same incentive to publicise what they’ve worked on as much as OpenAI. Google has had similarly performant LLMs the whole time. Who were the publishers of the “Attention is all you need” paper, of which almost everything OpenAI has been credited for is built upon?

I think this is because Google compiles these cast lists based on search proximity prevalence. So if you look up some actor and a movie in the same query many times it starts to assume the actor is in that movie. Maybe they combine this with some base scraping but I think it's highly unlikely they use some API or hand craft the lists.

It's not a fixed price asset, it's still a market and Tether relies on arbitrageurs to take profits from inefficiencies in the price when it drops below $1 or rises above.
