My comment was of course from the perspective of the game developer. For PC/Windows games it has always been the case that you need the required HW to play the game in a "satisfying" performance.

A lot of RT features makes game development faster (or more efficient) so you won't be able to play the game without them.

I really liked the first Virtua Striker. It is pretty limited but can be fun in small doses even today. There is a PS3 port and of course Mame if you want to try it out!

The Switch 1 Kingdom Hearts game are like that.

Yes, Lumen (and raytracing in general) has a performance overhead. If you don't want that you can skip that feature. Split Fiction and other games choose to do so.

I think that is the only way forward. There is no "Linux desktop". There is KDE, Gnome etc. and if you want to do "system utilities" you have to target one of those.

I think all your examples are terrible (bread) or overpriced (Japanese Whiskey). There are also a lot of places that are pretty crap in Japan like restaurants where they clearly don't really care.

Compare to Italy that wherever you go everything seems really high quality. I was in a gas station in the middle of nowhere and I had a really great cappuccino for example.

Macs have enough open firmware to allow you to run any OS that you want. Linux Asahi only supports a certain subset of modern Mac HW, if you want to speed up development you should probably contribute to that project.

If you run Ubuntu you are free to do what you want with it.

Ubuntu can have one GUI and Kubuntu can have another. Every distro can't be everything for every person.
