One of JetBrains primary products is Resharper. It's a must have add on for Visual Studio. If we're going to be subjective I'd say no other IDE gets close to the combination of Visual Studio and Resharper.

Introducing Aurelia 11 years ago

We use Durandal as our SPA framework and we love it. So glad to see this. Rob knows how to write a framework.

Rob is a brilliant guy. We've used his WPF/Silverlight mvvm framework for years. Our consulting company uses durandal.js for current projects. It looks like Durandal v2 is now called Aurelia. I have high hopes for it, he knows how to write a framework.

They had Windows 8. Then Windows 8.1. Now it's Windows 8.1 Update 1. (Another terrible name in a long line of terrible Microsoft product names)

I'm not sure why he is comparing knockout to angular. Angular is an entire framework and knockout is a small piece for binding. Seems like Durandal vs Angular would be a better comparison.

I just finished a large project with Durandal that went great. I fell in love with it. I'm eager to try Angular on the next one to see how they stack up.

Goodbye Silverlight 13 years ago

Many window users faced Silverlight quality issues themselves due to their .Net frameworks not being up to date. For the best performance, they needed to download the .Net 4.0 SDK in Windows, which is something the average Netflix customer would not be willing to do.

Silverlight doesn't require the .Net framework on the machine. Not sure what performance issues he is talking about but Silverlight has better streaming features and performance than flash or html5.

CSS Flexbox Please 14 years ago

Really enjoying grid layout. I wish it was well supported. Makes so much more sense than what we have today.

Nice work xpaulbettsx! Great to see a Caliburn.Micro getting some props. We're using it on a large WPF app now.

How many people were on the team? Did you let Phil write any Xaml?

I always shake my head a bit when I see people mention Zune like this. The hardware (and software on device) was fantastic. Much better than the iPods at the time imho. Look at the reviews on Amazon sometime. http://www.amazon.com/Zune-Video-MP3-Player-Platinum/dp/B002...

The Zune software is beautiful. It's a little heavy on occasion but much better than iTunes (again heavy imho). Zune pass is a great music service as well. It's not as unique as it once was since Spotify and others let you play what you want on demand but it's price similarly and you get to own a few of the songs each month.
