> Why would anyone keep creating cool new frameworks?

That’s a weird question because the answer is so obvious. There’s massive innovation in front end development because billlions of users are using ever more sophisticated applications created by millions of programmers backed by virtually infinite money. Of course people keep looking for and finding better ways to do things. Do you think that process has come to an end?

You must be trolling.

No vuejs did not surpass reactjs.

In fact reactjs found an even simpler programming model and is leading with this new approach ... it is called hooks.

Vuejs is copying the same concept and in fact wanted to dump it’s old way to fully embrace react hooks style programming but that angered the vuejs community.

Cloud applications have become much much more complex than OS based application development.

Don’t take the path of cloud based development if you are aiming to simplify.

I strongly support DoH as it prevents government snooping on the public. It’s really unhelpful that people like this attack Firefox over this issue.

Stand strong Firefox against this.

This is an overly broad generalization.

Computer software products can and should come in all sizes and flavors and designs.

This is the most powerful and flexible machine invented. You can’t say the software that runs in them should be like this or like that.

What you can say is some products do well by being simple.

Clickbait.

This needs a different title.

This is NOT saying CSRG is dead.

It is saying “same site cookies are an alternative to CSRF”.

Essentially all the existing Ui paradigms are better.

Trees are fiddly and poky things to navigate.

Tree oriented uis leave information hidden and require lots of clicks. Ugh.

Special cases and complexities constantly arise in tree oriented uis and clear consistent solutions are often hard to fit in to the system.

Programmers love trees though because truth is a lot of data is in tree form so the assume that data structure should be surfaced to the user.

It not correct though. Simple flat uis are much better.

My obsession with trees culminated in building a major business system that realized my dream of a fully tree oriented ui. It was shit.

I totally redesigned and rebuilt it several years down the track.

Now I don’t put trees in uis.

Programmers love trees but they really aren’t the basis of good user experience.

I spent years building tree oriented uis before realizing.

The specific application envisaged in the parent post is a solution without a problem, that scratches the programmers itch.

He’s very left wing but doesn’t agree with all left wing policies.

People just don’t know what to make of the above combination. He doesn’t fit our modern polarized stereotypes.
