Contrarian, clearly. Spend a lot of time at -whatever. And "too fast".

You don't need my comments to help you see clearly, you have everything you already need in what I've written already. Joining those dots is up to you.

The main thing is, your life is up to you, blaming anyone else is just disempowering yourself. It doesn't work. Taking responsibility and choosing to create improvements for yourself does work.

Anything else is just substituting excuses to make yourself feel better, and just substituting an addiction to intoxicating narratives of zero responsibility, for instead of actually getting results.

You can start a company, no matter where you start from.

Oh, it looks hard from where you are? So give up when it looks hard from where you are and you'd rarely be successful anyway.

So persevere and your success is that much cooler, than if you'd peeled away a lesser risk.

The nature of risk, is that it's risky.

In a whole lot of ways it's easier when you have nothing. You're hungrier, more wily, more resourceful, you have less height to fall from. And more to gain. It's more immediate and important. When success and failure is the difference between your next meal, or a place to stay, you'll discover a depth of resourcefulness you didn't know you possessed.

If it's the difference between a Jag and a MacLaren, maybe you don't fight so hard.

So stop making excuses, and pretending you got to be privileged to make it. Buck up, if you want success.

counter narratives to the idea that you can't be an entrepreneurs unless are privileged - Make it work - do more with less - be scrappy - work smart - convert people into believers - convert believers into funders - ... or customers - if your Real Idea takes more than you have, make a Proxy idea to generate money so you can fund your real idea - stop complaining - stop blaming others - take responsibility - it's hard? it's in your mind. if anyone could do it, they would have. you wanted to be special, be a success? so earn it. - expecting success to just be given to you is acting privileged and entitled - it's not what you're given, it's what you choose to do with it that makes you count - risk comfort can be conditioned. so start practicing. - pretending their success is due to privilege is just trying to close the gap between you and them by diminishing your perception of them, instead of by making something that makes you more successful. this makes you feel good, and it doesn't work to get you results

Inspired cheers!

If you're a real victim, then you have encountered a force unreasonable to overcome on your own, or you've been the victim of a crime, or both, and then it works to have help from something more powerful, like the Law, or the State. And if the State has made you a real victim? Go to another state.

And if there is no higher force to help you -- spiritual victory is one possibility: "Your life is what your thoughts make of it."

A person's life is their responsibility. The only thing disingenuous is believing that is not so. A person brings shame upon themselves when they blame others for lack, instead of choosing to create for themselves.

Your fancy words conceal an illogicality of thought. Clear your thought, before you clothe it in fancy words, otherwise you get confused. Stopping making excuses and tolerating that from others, is the way of genuine concern for helping others improve.

Believing differently is your choice, and it won't work. Think more before you write more.

Friends! If you find someone trying to criticize your achievement as being "just because you are privileged" say

"I'm now further from where I started, than where I started was from where you started. So if you couldn't even make it from where you started to where I started, how do you expect that you could have made it from where I started to where I am now?"

People may choose to respond to this by saying something that confirms their idea that they are fundamentally more worse off than you. They may call you privilege blind. They may say it is easier if they had X more capital. The may say anything that confirms their hypothesis that without having whatever they credit you with possessing, they are less capable.

I implore you, be not discouraged, nor believe your success any the lesser. Recognize that they are disempowering themselves and, that by believing that success is something that must be given to them rather than something they create, they are acting privileged and entitled, the very things they are trying to say you are. Recognize and, if you like, benevolently point out, that this chosen self-disempowerment, this unworkable attitude, is a poverty of the spirit that will disadvantage them ( by their own choice ) far more than any difference between how much they started with, and how much you did.

For if at every step of the way, people are looking to those who have more than them and, "proving" to themselves that this difference was all about different starting points rather than about a different sequence of choices, then such people are disempowering the power of choice, and, how likely do you feel such people will be, to ever make a string of choices that leads to success?

No, friends, heed not their admonishments, and keep your children away from their siren songs, for they are only the delusional whispers of a people soothing themselves into apathy by telling themselves they never coulda, instead of believing that they fully could have, had they only chosen to take responsibility for success, instead of deluding themselves that it was owed to them.

To put it in more general terms : Being a fake victim doesn't work, you just disempower yourself. When you see people better of than you, choosing to be inspired and to acknowledge their achievements works. Choosing to pretend to yourself that success is something that must be given to you, instead of something you create yourself, is just acting privileged and entitled, and it doesn't work and it actually, this attitude, makes it less likely for you to succeed. An attitude that acknowledge the choices that lead to success, and that takes responsibility yourself to create your own success through your own choices, this attitude works, and makes it more likely for you to succeed. Anything else, any stories you choose to tell yourself about how it's so unfair, is just you choosing to substitute the fake payoff of feeling like a righteous fake victim of unfairness, for the real payoff of actually creating results.

Trying to spread to others the claptrap that people are powerless, so you can confirm your own delusions that they are, is just incorrectly trying to disempower others, and it's just wrong.

TL;DR -- Deluding yourself that success is given, rather than created, is not an attitude that works to help you create your own success.

I hope this cleared some things up for some people. Those too far gone in excusing themselves a lack of success due to a fantasy of disadvantage may or may not be beyond the reach of such simple words, and I hope they can be reached. For everyone else I have even more hope.

Keep the faith, it is up to you.

Make a lot of small bets.

The investments are not either or. Spend a little time on each thing, and be open to the ones that work for you, choosing you.

Regarding the idea which now has a competitor, recall Peter Thiel's words, "Aim to be the last in the space, and the first to do something different." Also, their emergence validates your vision.

Watch what these competitors do, let them run the experiments, and contribute what you see to make yours better, if you do it.

Your prescription, Sir:

A) Ask your parents, family and friends for advice. Maybe they do not know work, and they do know you.

B) Call it what it is: Quarter-Life Crisis

C) Recognize your options are not either or. Concretely :

  1 + 2
  1 + 3
  2 + 3 ( as consultant )
D) Read the Alchemist if you have not done so. Ask yourself what signs recur in your life and ponder what such may be suggesting to you about your path from here.

E) Recognize that choosing to do nothing is also a possibility. So is deferring your choice until an answer presents itself.

F) Quantum Jump : ask versions of your future self what path they picked and what happened doing so.

G) Be thankful for the life you have. It's yours, live it your way.

That's strange I've always found low doses have the opposite effect : more empathetic.

Perhaps it just impairs performance on the simulators where emotion recognition is tested with images, and not in real life.

Or maybe my brain chemistry is different.

Government will become the thing which puts work to tender and decides who gets the contract.

Every service will become privatised.

Government will converge on what it does best, core business, collaborative decision making between representatives from diverse groups.

Contrary to popular belief it is not government inertia which slows this transition, it is public expectation. Society is not yet ready.

Services, as others say, require physical presence. Core Gov can become 100% digital and will, since gov is the nervous ( and circulatory ) system, which causes to function the diverse systems required for society's function.

Watch Zuckerberg make a play for government through FB. Gov is the network. It is already information. All that's missing is the social technology to trust that gov works like this to make it happen.

Northern Europe / Korea will go first.

the last 3 pos i had i "created" them myself by reaching out to people who needed something. one i responded to a job ad and ended up being hired to build something different on much better terms ( essentially as a consultant ). one i emailed 110 people in the space i wanted to get paid to work, got 10 replies 3 interview and 2 offers. one i pitched a project and got funding for equity. in all 3 cases i ensured i got people to pay me for me learning something new. so it was definitely a case of me not knowing how to do it when i approached them, yet i knew i could do it. another way to say that is i knew i could work it out. you sound like someone who can teach themselves that too. getting the work is like getting dates, it works to ask a lot of people, then care for, manage and nurture those connections. or like fishing, you got to cast a lot of times to get a couple nibbles, to land the biggun. you got this.
