Temporarily limit the size of data fields at the consensus level, in order to correct distorted incentives caused by standardizing support for arbitrary data, and to refocus priorities on improving Bitcoin as money.

Again, assuming separation of powers: In a democracy, ministries are part of the executive branch. Their role is to follow and implement the law, not to judge violations.
If a law is violated, then a judge, and not a ministry, should be the one to enforce it.
When an administrative body blocks access to a service without prior judicial oversight, it blurs the line between the executive and the judiciary. And since separation of powers is a key component of any democracy, this raises legitimate concerns about the quality of democratic checks and balances.
Just to be clear: I’m not arguing that unlicensed online gambling sites should remain accessible. The issue is how the restriction is carried out, and whether it respects democratic principles and institutional roles.
Spain's Consumer Rights Ministry temporarily banned so-called prediction markets Polymarket and Kalshi [..]
Why a ministry has the authority to do so? What I don't like about my country, and the whole UE, is the lack of democracy. And this is a good example.
A democracy needs to have real separations of powers. The legislative body creates a law, and the judiciary, based on that law, will decide on banning or not the online gambling site.
A ministry belongs to the executive branch of the Estate. It is not up to them to decide whether something is illegal or not.
What I didn't get from the video is that there's a differential, but it is not connected to the wheels. Is there a second differential that connects MG1 to the wheels?
"Alzheimer’s disease is a condition of the elderly, and they’re on their way out anyway." That's a such a protestant way of thinking. It contrasts very much with the catholic culture of southern Europe. I am not saying that is better or worse, but I think it is a very clear example of how different the culture is across the UE. One key aspect is how to look after your elders.
I wonder what the z8000 and vax commands do. I can imagine the first is related to the 16bit Zilog processor and the second to the vax OS, but no idea how to use them or what are they for.
So Cursor to the moon?
"Repeaters are included every 40-80 km to keep the signal strong."
Does it mean that there's a ton of repeaters under the sea? Where do they get the power from?
I always found interesting that you can bet on Polymarket whether Jesus Christ will come back before 2027 or not. At the moment, you can bet $96.20 to win $100 that he won't.
That goes for me?
They have released the draft for IPv8 two days ago: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-thain-ipv8-00.html
Does it mean we better put our chips on IPv8?
Well, the doctor, the drugs and everything else needed for the procedure is covered by the health system. I would argue that is indeed helping to end one's live.
It was assisted suicide. Meaning the government helps you to commit suicide.
Sometimes I wonder what Operating Systems do nowadays that they didn't do 15 years ago that requires so many resources.
I can't wait for version 1.0.0.0.0.0.0.1
People are so rude with their phones that I fear that starlink becomes popular in all flights.
We used to use computing power to search for ET signals, now we mine bitcoins.
I thought I was the only one that remembers that band!
However, they still allow food to be destroyed.
I would add that the issue with Omega-3, is the imbalance between Omega-3 and Omega-6. It turns out that many of the food products have been manufactured with Omega-6 rich oils and that is causing some issues. One can ingest Omega-3 supplements, try to eat foods rich on that fatty acid or reduce foods with lots of Omega-6 in order to restore that balance.
I didn't know about polars, and I can see that they also have a library for R. However, in R, they have a fiercer competition. I wonder how it compares to tidyverse, which is the stablished data analysis library.
Reminds me of the theremin. Turning an interference into something useful (or beautiful)
I thought the article was about finding a job when you reach a certain age, which is my problem.
The way I do it is to have two different first level domains. Let's say:
- w for the wireguard network. - h for the home network.
Nothing fancy, just populate the /etc/hosts on every machine with these names.
Now, it's up to me to connect to my server1.h or server1.w depending whether I am at home or somewhere else.
In reference to this. I just want to tell the case of sugar alcohols and my partner. She used to suffer random intestinal bloating and it tooks us a while to discover the reason.
We were aware of the problems associated with carbs and sugar consumption and we tried to find alternatives so we switched to 0% sugar foods. It turns out that most of them are filled with sweeteners, mostly sugar alcohols, and they have worse consequences.
In fact, anything that you ingest, and it is not absorbed by your digestive system, must go somewhere. Sugar alcohols can be fermented by the gut bacteria causing other kinds of problems. I would say that the best thing to do is to reduce/remove sugar from your diet without trying to find substitutes.
By the way, my partner went to her GP (NHS) and they just dismissed her case by just saying. "Oh, we believe you have IBS". That's it, case close.
I reckon this was an agreement between Putin and Trump. Ukraine for Venezuela. I can be wrong, of course.
I guess a brave soul would have pulled the alarm at Troisdorf.
Oh, I wrote "asian ai guy" because that's the name people are using in these YouTube videos.
Maybe you are right and the video is just ai slop. I just wanted to share it, because I learnt with them how futures, arbitrage and market manipulation works.
Also, I can assure you that I am not part of any campaign, but of course, what else would I say?
There's an asian AI guy on youtube providing a lot of information about what is going on with the silver right now. Sometimes it seems like he has some insider information, and the whole reasoning seems to come from an expert.
It's strange because it's just not one channel but multiple, and the person behind has kept uploading videos during the entire duration of these holidays. So far, he seems to be quite accurate with his predictions. It's been quite informative.
