I founded a company and reached $6M ARR with >50% net profit margin. After 4 years decided to do a full rewrite. Finished it successfully within a year including full migration of all clients. Was the best decision ever.

Exactly this. It sounds easy but this type of creator who can do this is very rare but usually has a high success rate. This should be the defintion of the "10X dev"
Why do you feel offended?
OP had the thesis that the "Norway sovereign fund" is funded by high taxes. This fund is also known as the "Oil fund": The Government Pension Fund Global, also known as the Oil Fund, was established in 1990 to invest the surplus revenues of the Norwegian petroleum sector.
Conclusion: The Norwegian society is not just rich just because you are that smart. You obviously had a good portion of luck.
Norway oil is way more relevant for your thesis than Norway taxes

The more this kind of platforms become relevant, the less they work to gain an edge at investing.
Tbh your achievement sounds like you added a lot of complexity (treating symptoms) instead of really trying to tackle the core of the problem.
Hopefully one of the necessary wake up calls for people to realize the centralized monopoly problem.
It's only Apple. The problem space of Netflix is easy.
You are mixing hard with complex. A PRNG is very simple (not complex) and hard (not easy).
Complexity is easy to build.
They use Gandi under the hood. Using Gandi directly is a much better experience
That was just an example to make the point clear which varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. But even in your 15% example the long term effects are very significant.
A problem that is usually not noticed with a wealth tax is that you have to pay the wealth tax from money which already has been taxed with some sort of income tax.
Means a 2% wealth tax combined with a 50% income tax, dividend tax, capital gains tax or whatever ends up being a 4% wealth tax effectively.
Example: You own stock worth $1,000,000 and the government wants 2% wealth tax from you which means $20,000. But to get that $20,000 you have to sell $40,000 worth of stock and pay 50% income tax for that sale and the government ends up taking 40,000$ effectively.
okay
I'm the only dev
Is this seriously considered as being a boring stack nowadays?
for me it was similar but with the game Tibia
absolutely
what about the gmail receive limit? its 60 emails per minute or about 80k per day
if you hit 1 minute over 60 you get blocked 24h
In the software space your statement might be true in some cases. You're still far above the median, if you really create real value in the millions for others.
Thank you for your offer. No offense, but that would be of no use for me. I learned that external outsourcing of development tasks is not effective at all if you want to focus on delivering quality that customers really love.
Another point is that my market is really not obvious at all and I want to have competitors as late as possible. Currently there are none I know of. Only competitors who solve parts of it which existed before me anyway.
Thank you, I don't enjoy writing anything else than code or short texts/comments though.
wrote an entire CRM platform for a niche which is still my business today. revenue is at ~200,000 $ per month, profit margin is >60%.
Tech stack: MySQL, Java EE, JQuery, Bootstrap and the like. No big frameworks. All hosted on Google Cloud.
what about caring about things that matter?
Exactly! +1
Simplicity is also Security
Damn, since the update the browser SSH is not working anymore in the Google Cloud console with Firefox 64. Had to install Google Chrome to make it work... Let's see where this overcomplicating of the web by Google leads to ;-)
It's not possible. And even if you try, no competitior will even take you serious as you are just at 10% speed/willpower/energy. Just quit you job and start in a manner that makes sense :-)
yours :)
if you have nothing else to do in your life, yes you could do that
