Are you aware that fake passports exist right?
Those people are not going into the bank with photocopies of passports, they are creating fake passports for that, all they need from the photocopy is the number to put in the fake one.
And in many countries this days you can create a bank accounts using the bank app and all they ask for is a photo of your ID/Passport, now you dont even have to create a good fake for that.
In Brasil the patent also expired on March 20, and already there are a dozen of generics that have already applied to get approval, but none got it so far.
So Novo Nordisk itself droped the price a LOT in the last weeks, and even after the price drop you can get the first month free at a lower dosage when starting with a higher one.. Like if you got the 5ml prescripted to you would they send firs month of the 2.5ml for free..
Even the propspect of having generics in the market is already making the price drop..
That depend on your needs.. linux can do live update if you need that, usefull on servers..
But atomic versions as more target to desktops or containers where you need to have know working setup and when you upgrade you replace it by newer one..
So you dont update per se... You install the new version in a separated partition and boot into it the next time you restart.. Same with containers, you just destroy it and recreate with the new version..
If the new version fail you boot back to the old original version that is know to be working and have not being replaced..
The ideia is to ensure a known to be working system is always available..
No, that was the H800.
The H200 is the next generation of the H100.
This device has AMD for both CPU ane GPU, so nVidia optimized stuff would not be a factor..
Bazzite is a spin on Fedora Atomic..
It ia a larger distribution better maintained and supported underneath..
All that bazitte does is put steam os interface in front of it..
The rational is more or less like this..
And i know i simplifying things A LOT here.. but that is the mentality behind it..
When crude oil price go up then gas station raise their prices because they know next they they buy it will be more expansive and they will need more money to afford it, so they raise their prices prices immediately..
On the other hand, if crude oil prices drop, it means that next time they buy it will be cheaper, but the gas they currently have was expensive, so they need to keep the prices up to recover what they already paid for it..
because the people above are just for the interview.. And they are shared across multiple jobs, so it is not just 1 position..
They apply to multiple jobs at multiple companies..
One team handle interview process to make sure they get the job, once they get the job another set of people handle the actual work.. And then the interview team also handle any instance the person need to be seen or talked to..
Each job pay a few of those guys and the company keep the rest.. If they land enough jobs they can easily pay for all that..
Java was popular in enterprises and enterprises system take ages to die..
So people will have to take care of this legacy code for ages..
But this is the future for Java, legacy code..
We cannot because the funds cutting DO create Drug resistant strain..
Not directly, but by creating the exact scenario that cause then to be created..
The USAID funds cut will cause patients to have to stop their treatment half way because there are no more money to buy the drugs required to their treatment..
This is the basic recipe to a drug resistant viruses...
When you start a treatment the first to die are the copies of the virus that are susceptible to the drug while the more resistant copies take longer to die..
This is why is so important to keep a treatment even after the symptoms ended, there will still be copies of the virus in your body that are resistant to the drug but not enough copies to cause the disease..
If you stop the treatment half way the copies that are resistant have the opportunity to multiply again, but now the drug will have less effect on it..
Repeat this process enough and you get a strain of the virus that is immune to the drug..
Repeat the process again and again with other drugs and you get a strain that is immune to everything..
With the number of patients affected by USAID cuts means it is practically guaranteed that a drug resistant strain will happen..
firefox on iOS on most places is just a firefox skin on top of safari, since Apple does not let other browsers engines in iOS..
Doublethink at its finest.. We were always at war with Estasia after all..
Developers that fill those informations.. So then saying over there that they do not collect does not mean they are not collecting something..
Also, Brave has already broken trust multiple times..
https://www.coindesk.com/business/2020/06/08/brave-browsers-...

https://www.spacebar.news/stop-using-brave-browser/
I do not trust Brave in a million years and would never replace Firefox with it..
Also, i bet that most people do not even know or look at those privacy information at the store.. although i agree they should..
That would require him to admit he has a problem that need to be worked on, i doubt he will ever do that..
He likely do the exact opposite, pay people to tell him everyone else but him is the problem..
except many ISP are know to hijack DNS queries when the domain does not exist..
Others are using DNS data to build customer profiles and then profit out of it..
This is what caused people to turn to big providers..
I have my own recursive resolver that i host in a VPS and my local dns server connect to it via DoT..
Now my ISP cannot capture any information using DNS, cannot hijack or poison my requests..
this is why we need DoT and DoH everywhere.
If my resolver can connect using DoT or DoH all the way up to the root servers then ISP cannot intercept or poison it..
And making ISP block the IPs is the correct way to approach this problem..
I think it is worse then that..
I believe that Jack really wanted to have Bluesky develop a protocol they could later migrate twitter into, but after Elon took over it was clear to anyone that ATProto at twitter would never happen..
I am not sure who was responsible for it, but someone made a good job making sure Bluesky would be independent from twitter despite their investment.. So after Elon took over twitter then Bluesky had to decide what to do and ended up becoming its own independent thing..
And since using twitter to bootstrap the ATProto network was no longer happening, they also needed someone to do it instead and deploying their own instances was the logical next step..
So if anything Jack is partially responsible for what Bluesky became since as far as i can remember he supported Elon from the start..
And that is basically what one of the devs said in response to Jack BS claims..

basically every adblock on iphone does this, usually as part of a premium paid upgrade..
iOS unfortunately does not have a way for those apps to hijack the OS level DNS... so they fake a VPN to configure thenselves as the VPN DNS server to allow then to capture all the local DNS traffic..
they do this because it is, as far as i know, their only option to do ad blocking for the whole device instead of just for safari..
Dont know about that..
I do see MS buying it but keeping it as an independent foundation and letting other join to vote and help steer development... I could see Google itself doing this to chromium to avoid loose chrome..
Apple is more unlikely since they do not use Chromiun or Blink for Safari, but give that Blink is a fork of WebKit that is what Apple use in Safari i would not say chances are zero..
Why not a good idea?? There is nothing that say it should be a separated hardware..
In fact, AdGuard app for iPhone does basically this, it install itself as an always on VPN to hijack DNS queries from apps..
You dont even need containers or VM for AdGuard, it have a windows version that you can install as a service and then just point the DNS to localhost..
For Pihole i seen guide that use WSL to run it locally, but using containers in this case might be easier..
I dont know Technitium so cant comment on it, but quick search it look like it also have a windows version so it might not require containers as well..
It is not the usual configuration but it work.. In this case i would point AdGuard to use whatever DNS is available in the local network so you do not loose access to local stuff..
If you are on a laptop it will require some manuall managing unfortunatelly, but if you are on a fixed network you just need to set it up once and forget about it..
Better yet, spend all in beer and get drunk.. at least you'll have a hangover to show for it at the end..
Yes.. But for some reason situation is worst in Brazil compared to anywhere else..
It was forbidden in Brazil.. They changed the law to allow and the country jumped to #1 in sports gambling in less then 1 year..
other types of gambling are likely following the same trend..
gambling sites made 20bi profit last year... that is equivalent to 1% of the country GDP..
Retail already noticed a slowdown because people are stopping spending money to gamble or are already heavily in debt..
I expect a change in this in the coming months..
evangelical churches are starting to get concerned about this and we are starting to see the evangelical base in congress react against.. [1][2]
When people that has lost all their money on gambling stop paying the tithe, that many evangelical churches demand, the movement against it between churches leadership will gain a LOT of traction..

Twitter is not even in the top 10 of popular social media.. so many already are more popular then Twitter..
Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok are all more popular then twitter.. Hell, i bet even Orkut was more popular then twitter back in the day..
I don't think Twitter was ever the number 1 social media in popularity..
Also, Twitter was never valued at $44bi by anyone other then Elon, and even he saw the terrible deal he made and tried to back out of it..
And value has only dropped after..
And they are bleeding both money and users.. So the user base is clearly willing to use something else..
It will surprise me if twitter is still a thing by this time next year.. it might still be around but i think it will be small and irrelevant..
real open source does not imply any of that..
Real open source is any software with a license that obey the four freedoms..
1 - freedom to view the source 2 - freedom to use 3 - freedom to modify 4 - freedom to distribute your modified version
Bluesky use the MIT license that does comply with the freedoms above, so it is real open source..
Also, it use a open protocol as well.. so nothing is stopping you from deploying your own instance [1] and use their app to connect to it.. then you will have all your data freely accessible as you want..
I dont think it will because the moderation tools available to people are better and actually work..
If i block someone they are gone from my timeline, their replies are gone from my posts even to other people..
If someone re-post me and i don't like the context i can go there and "disconnect" my post from their re-post..
Also Bluesky has public block lists anyone can create and sign-up for, those accounts would be noticed very fast and included in some block list if they start getting any traction..
So while it is not impossible for those accounts to exist, it is much harder for then to get traction..
And if they get traction it is much easier to hide then from our and our followers view..
if only there was some kind of tool that allow producers to cross post to multiple social medias at once..
Except it is not a ghost town..
Massive amount of Brazilians moved there while Twitter was banned in Brazil, many stayed because the moderation tools actually work.. In fact in Brazil due the Twitter ban many newspapers and companies created and are maintaining a presence in both Bluesky and Threads as well..
Then there was a influx of people in Europe after the block changes in Twitter..
Now Trump election sent another batch of people..
Bluesky was the 2 most downloaded app in the both app stores, way ahead of twitter..
If they have not achieved the critical mass needed to replace twitter they are very close..
Sure, some people are still staying behind due their "fake" follower count, what they don't realize is that most of those followers are now abandoned accounts.. But they like seen a big number on their screen, while in Bluesky they would need to start from scratch..
This IA chat does not have anything from Microsoft other then having the option to use ChatGPT model that is the same one Microsoft used to build Bing Chat..
But it offer several more models as options to choose from, some even open source and not related OpenIA..
