Now my ISP cannot capture any information using DNS, cannot hijack or poison my requests..

If my resolver can connect using DoT or DoH all the way up to the root servers then ISP cannot intercept or poison it..

And making ISP block the IPs is the correct way to approach this problem..

I believe that Jack really wanted to have Bluesky develop a protocol they could later migrate twitter into, but after Elon took over it was clear to anyone that ATProto at twitter would never happen..

I am not sure who was responsible for it, but someone made a good job making sure Bluesky would be independent from twitter despite their investment.. So after Elon took over twitter then Bluesky had to decide what to do and ended up becoming its own independent thing..

basically every adblock on iphone does this, usually as part of a premium paid upgrade..

iOS unfortunately does not have a way for those apps to hijack the OS level DNS... so they fake a VPN to configure thenselves as the VPN DNS server to allow then to capture all the local DNS traffic..

they do this because it is, as far as i know, their only option to do ad blocking for the whole device instead of just for safari..

In fact, AdGuard app for iPhone does basically this, it install itself as an always on VPN to hijack DNS queries from apps..

You dont even need containers or VM for AdGuard, it have a windows version that you can install as a service and then just point the DNS to localhost..

For Pihole i seen guide that use WSL to run it locally, but using containers in this case might be easier..

It is not the usual configuration but it work.. In this case i would point AdGuard to use whatever DNS is available in the local network so you do not loose access to local stuff..

If you are on a laptop it will require some manuall managing unfortunatelly, but if you are on a fixed network you just need to set it up once and forget about it..

I dont think it will because the moderation tools available to people are better and actually work..

If i block someone they are gone from my timeline, their replies are gone from my posts even to other people..

If someone re-post me and i don't like the context i can go there and "disconnect" my post from their re-post..

Also Bluesky has public block lists anyone can create and sign-up for, those accounts would be noticed very fast and included in some block list if they start getting any traction..

So while it is not impossible for those accounts to exist, it is much harder for then to get traction..

And if they get traction it is much easier to hide then from our and our followers view..

Sure, some people are still staying behind due their "fake" follower count, what they don't realize is that most of those followers are now abandoned accounts.. But they like seen a big number on their screen, while in Bluesky they would need to start from scratch..

This IA chat does not have anything from Microsoft other then having the option to use ChatGPT model that is the same one Microsoft used to build Bing Chat..

But it offer several more models as options to choose from, some even open source and not related OpenIA..
