That caste reservation system you mentioned is fundementally flawed. For example, it will favor children of low caste individual who already benefitted from the system and is at economically very priviledged position over children of a high caste individual who are economically disadvantaged.

I had pleasure of using HipChat some times ago. That was probably the worst Atlassian product I have ever used. You want to edit the message you just send, you have to type 's/string/replacement' within 60s.

Sinhala does not have the structure of Dravidian languages. However, the alphabet used to write Sinhala has a shared origin with the alphabets used to write Dravidian languages. Also due to long coexistence with Tamil in the island, Sinhala burrows lot of loanwords from Tamil.

I am Sinhalese who grew up in Sri Lanka. As such I am exposed to Tamil, but when I watch Tamil TV, at best I can pick few words here and there. But when I watch Hindi show, I understand a lot more due to the structure is very similar to that of Sinhala.

When I used to work in Japan I hated that rule. One day I feeling not so great, so I took the morning off. But we had an important release, so I still went to the office in the afternoon. The release ran into few issues, so I had to stay past the regular finish time of 6pm. I started to feel no so great again, so I wanted to finish the release and head home as soon as possible. But at 7pm, my boss came running towards me and forced me to take one hour break. I tried to explained to them (unsuccessfully) I only have about 5-10mins to finish the release. So I spent another one hour with watering eyes, massive headache, and chills, just to finish 5mins of work.

Not only that one rich country, 96 other countries performed better than Brazil in the index. In top 10, there are Rwanda and Sri Lanka, neither of which can be labeled as rich countries. (Sri Lanka is an Island though).

I am a Sri Lankan, and as far as I know only developed nation that allow visa free travel for Sri Lankans is Singapore. If you want to visit any other developed nation, you have to show you have enough funds (or someone else is sponsoring) and have connections to Sri Lanka.

I think one of the why our passport ranks in the bottom was during the Sri Lankan civil war there was lot of refugees from Sri Lanka, so developed countries started to look at every Sri Lankan as potential refugee or asylum seeker. It has been 11 years since the civil war ended, but developed world's treatment remains the same.

The irony is sometimes you will see some European tourists, who had no issues getting visa to Sri Lanka, begging and doing street performance in the streets of Sri Lanka.
