I'm curious about the steps taken actually. Are you approved in the State of California by the state board as a fuel delivery/transportation company? Do you intend to go to court if not?

The safety issues of this seem far too high to ignore.

What happens the first time something catches on fire? Will they fill up inside of a parking garage? What about a home garage?

The plastic bag ban was one of a handful of regulations that made a HUGE difference to the health of the bay's ecosystem. Paper will at least disintegrate over time in the bay's water. Plastic does not.

You should really look at the effect and reasoning of some of these regulations rather than handwaving them away as 'bad government regulation'

Culture is something built from the top down and must be prevalent as an absolute deal breaker in each and every hiring decision.

What I mean by this is if you aren't asking the question 'Is this someone I want to work/have lunch with?' during the interview process then you are going to bring people in who won't be a proper fit. As a byproduct of this, there needs to be a decent amount of time just getting to know the person before hiring them where no interview questions are asked.

I'm not sure. There are sparks happening right now in Detroit but it's going to take a lot more entrepreneurs and businesses than Slows to revitalize Detroit.

SE Michigan does have one of the highest rates of engineers in the country. It's great for manufacturing but Michigan needs more business sectors. As it stands, Ann Arbor is the only tech hub in the state and even then, plenty of talent is leaving for Silicon Valley.

The topic says it all though. It's true, Wall Street is on a hiring frenzy right now and they've started to realize how important good talent is.

It means they are going to have to start offering more to get the talent that typically dives off into silicon valley. NYC suits are also a hard sell to the t-shirt style of the west coast and that in itself may be a difficult obstacle.

Honestly, this is like arguing tabs vs spaces.

I think we're going to see the next generation of kids taking a much closer look at what they will be studying and the cost/benefits of those studies.

College tuition has gone up so much and people are in so much debt now that 2nd generation college students will likely have better advice from their parents.

All I ever got my whole life was, "go to school." Luckily I majored in engineering, but I know too many people with half a mortgage in student loans making $12/hour now.

It seems the point of this fight is bidding when the company/government is already biased towards a specific vendor.

I have seen too many software vendors beat out the competition on an objective technical scale that I have taken a part in evaluating only to have Oracle win the entire contract with a sub par product and watching management skew the numbers into Oracle's favor so that their bosses remain happy. They'll spend more money for a lesser product simply because that is the status quo.

This is actually huge news as it marks the beginning of what many of us feared and destroys future entrpeneurship. I have no idea why the FCC decided mobile Internet should allow these practices.
