It's more nuanced than that.

Tariffs do not always 100% immediately get passed on to buyer.

If there's a $100 product you'd like to purchase and there's a 100% tariff, it won't be $200.

That product was made abroad, let's for $20. So the tariff should be $20, not $100.

The US-based owner will go to the supplier, say they're getting squeezed by tariffs and first they'll try to see what they can do to recategorize the tariff, or negotiate with their supplier to absorb some of the expense. Let's say that got it down to $15. The owner still doesn't want to increase costs by 15%, so they'll hold off for a while and absorb, and then eventually maybe increase 5-10 and absorb further; perhaps eventually going the full stretch - maybe not.

Just taking a glance and main benefit I'd say is offline support - which they also recently added to their mobile app.

Also being able to make it your default app for email (and hopefully calendar?)

Yes, but investors move in and out of cash positions. Bershire Hathaway is currently sitting on $334 billion in cash. If you're an active investor, you'll have periods of both buying and selling - so you'll have cash, or you won't have cash. To assume 100% is allocated at all times is incorrect.

Creatine is quite literally the most researched supplement in the world. It's safe, effective, and recommended by both gym rats and doctors in any field. It's naturally occurring in many foods.

It's the only supplement that's actually given insanely effective results for my own anecdotal use.

Any study that says otherwise I'm just going to assume is complete BS. Normally I'd give something a chance and read their evidence, but this is practically up there with someone trying to argue the world is flat for me.

I pretty much immediately bounced due to your website design. Idk how to describe it - but, I guess just too much going on? I had zero interest in actually reading any of it because it was just so... I don't know.

Turn it into a normal ol' expected ecom product page so I can actually read and just click and see things and different angles and such and I would've stayed.

But good luck!

Just wanted to give another shout to FastMail. I'm a super happy user. I originally switched over for business reasons as it had a lot of features I liked. The past year, I exported my gmail history to it and setup forwarding so now I'm 100% on it for personal and business. So much cleaner.

Paid service - but with all the features + privacy of not being on Google (Well, anything going to my gmail still goes through - but slowly moving away) + they have excellent and fast customer support - all makes it worth it.

Honestly, I think we're at the point now where if the internet went down it'd cause a pretty heavy collapse of society. I'd be less worried about having stored content and more worried about not being able to access my money, businesses not being able to operate, friends and family being unable to communicate, being unable to travel back home, etc.

It'd eventually sort itself out to the ways pre-internet, sure - but so much now is built on internet-connected tech, not pre-internet tech.

Decided to give OSRS (Old School RuneScape) another try after more than a decade break from the game. Without their wiki, I don't think I would've continued to play; it's open constantly - incredibly easy to use, very well up to date, and just an all around wonderful resource. Above and beyond what used to exist.

"Strong domain" != "Strong domain name"

Domain ranking is more about reputation than exactly what the TLD is. Good TLD helps for sure, but is not the end all be all. Age, backlinks, content, etc. are the real ranking factors.

Think the website is getting the HN hug of death; just static for me on every channel, but reminded me of a story:

Recently my sister was on a vacation with her family, and my two nephews were upstairs watching TV. They came down "Mom - The TV is broken!", she goes upstairs - working fine. 10 mins later it repeats, and repeats again.

Finally, she catches when the TV "breaks" ... it's a commercial, haha.

Is there a chance these are being accidentally thrown away, rather than stolen?

I'm sure I've thrown a non-reusable utensil in the garbage more than once in my life by accident. While I of course would feel bad, I'm also not going to dig it out of a 50gal trash can in nice clothes.

Surely that happens many times over 5 years when you have dozens or hundreds of employees.

Seems like something that could be solved pretty easily by having self-control and not installing those apps on the device.

Besides, I would have no interest in doom-scrolling black and white anyway. My app timers on my phone, when they switch to greyscale, I immediately lose interest on whatever it was.

Thought the same; finally bought a Tile a few months ago.

Glad I decided to buy only one to test it out rather than go all-in.

This is precisely why on all my PayPal accounts I have a auto-sweep enabled so that anything over $6,000 is sent to my account daily.

I could set it to a lower threshold, but my AOV is ~$2,000 so I prefer to have enough for refunds - otherwise PayPal needs to debit my checking and then it takes very long for the customer to get their money back.
