I can attest to that. I am not American and I believe that one of the bright spots in America is the entrepreneurial spirit of its people in general.

People in America love taking risk and pushing the envelope experimenting with new stuff and technologies and that's one of the major strengths of this nation but I wouldn't go too far to express something like this far better than anyone else in the world. That's just absurd patriotism and there's no doubt about it.

It's taking them a long time since the announcement of the new framework at React conf. They said they would release an Android compatible version soon and still we're waiting for any updates beside the usual cliche.

If you wanna do any consumer facing web stuff, you gotta code in js in one way or another. So, if you don't do any web stuff that's fine but other people doing any serious front or back end web stuff have to master the language to get the maximum out of their work.

No one is forcing you to write in js. You can write in any language you want and then compile to js.

It's more of a testament of the intellectual laziness of some devs to pick up the language and put real efforts to master it.

It doesn't need to be on a massive scale or not pro-bono. It's enough to some people in the govt to volunteer and go on a disinformation field trip.

They could be govt stooges (field agents) implanted to distort public opinion and create a false narrative that the general public is happy with these draconian procedures and that they're very popular (peer pressure) to advance their agenda and support the status-quo.

I know that at face value, things look messy and unpredictable but if you really know js in and out, you'd guess the right answer (1) (Check operator precedence and associativity for reference)

The problem with people coming from more classical programming languages to learn js is that some have this condescending attitude toward the language from the get go and expect that by the virtue of having C/Java experience under the belt, that everything should look similar in js and when they encounter something like "automatic type casting" they freak out and start dissing the language but once they seriously put the effort to understand it, their frustration and bad experience starts to give away to a more positive experience and consequently more positive sentiment toward the language.

So for me it's just a question of attitude and story of prejudice and perceived supremacy of one's own language background at play here.
