When a smaller network tries to be interoperable with a larger network, the larger network almost always eats up the smaller one. This is how XMPP was killed by Gtalk, if any of you are old enough to remember.

nothing much. just here to click around.
I just found out about this site. I'm loving it.
interesting. i see underlines in firefox. but the width of the line is 2px in chrome, 1px in firefox.
Has always been like a mafia internationally tho.
Aha, you are right. This has always been the way he does business.
Rude.
It is so bad that it is not worth assessing in the first place.

Yes I have. But not this.
Someone else should write a browser engine called “Godom”. Which honestly would be a great name. A good browser will handle sessions and DOM.
Thanks for the pointer. And it makes it doubly confusing. Doesn't a reference to an obsolete, pre-modern language tarnish the reputation of Rust? Doesn't the creator of this project fear lawsuits from the legal team at The Basic Foundation?
I'm confused. Why do you name it “go”-something when it is not implemented in Go... I have a more catchy name for you, Rub, which stands for route to unlimited browsing.
IMHO, it would be more correct-miş, in terms of linguistics at least, to call it an “aspect” than a “tense”.
It's not a tense. It's called evidentiality.

Well, Geoff Hinton should get the prize for physiology instead. It's called “neural” networks after all.
TSMC has stopped way earlier.
j makes me shudder. But thanks for sharing.
No you are not. The Swedes will love to have you there.
I thought this post was about dissing Paul G, Garry Tan and the like. I was wrong.
Thanks for delving into this!
Do that in Rust.
A few years ago there was a case in China. Someone forged documents in the name of a mayor, using a seal with the mayor's name on it. The authorities later found it fake because the mayor used a different seal design. (Just a random detail in a complicated lawsuit.)
It would have been difficult if nobody else had seen his real seal though.
Programming is not for everyone. Teaching programming is no easy task either. In the end, one of them, even if only one, got a real software job. This is enough to say this program is not a failure.
This is not new. Things have been like this (but less systemic and organized) for the Uighurs/Uyghurs for decades. The world collectively shrugs. Because, to be honest, the West is the only part of the world where politicians nominally cares about human rights. In other parts of the world, including China and Muslim-majority countries, politicians don't even pretend they care.
And when the concept of human rights is applied to real people, some seem to be more deserving than others. Muslims are certainly not the tribe Western politicians most identify with.
As Mona Eltahawy wrote back in 2009 -- 10 years ago: If Only the Uighurs Were Buddhist and China Was Israel.

One solution, beside bashing China, is to vote for a liberal agenda that would give more funding to universities. Guggenheim and other art institutions took money from the Sacklers, who started the opioid crisis. Because they need money. And universities need money. They have to get money one way or another.
No. I'm not here to argue with anybody. I don't intend to change anyone's standing point. I realized long ago that online argument is more about sending pheromones so that the like-minded will come to you.
No worries. It's true being a US citizen carries certain guarantee of basic rights that a citizenship of any other country does not.
You wouldn't believe. Sweden is really a high-trust society. You can look up any person in the country online, etc, etc.
I hate the Chinese regime more than you do. The problem here is by exaggerating Chinese power, right-wing rhetoric in the West is singing a war song against China, which usually carries a racist undertone. And the dictator in China would stupidly believe China is indeed powerful. That's how the trade war between Xi and Trump started.
China has a limited overseas power projection. China does not have the power to get you. But the US can pretty much get anybody. Congrats on being a US citizen.
