How do chinese people even type?

Emacs has 25 kinds of Chinese input methods.

A speaker at Stanford on the topic of early keyboards used for Chinese noted graph structure such as the one you find in Canjie input method was what they used before soundspelling. Today, hypergraphtext autocompletion influences message contruction on flatscreen devices in a kind of mind-machine blend mode on a massive scale.

internet junkies today

The American Mandarin Society has courses for Professionals. I guess they make quality judgement on what to keep or throwout in use of the Chinese language in their curated walled garden for snooty State official use.

Knowledge danks fast in the techspace. Do a MOOC series guided by long standing institutes, such as, MIT. Volunteer on a codebase, such as, webrtc, GCC, Wine or SQLite. Earn your stars and make connections. Bootcamps sound like they will queue you up to be the nextgen Mailchimp coder canon fodder. Promises made. Promises broken.

Two thirds underground building structures and aerodynmaic upper third exposed to the sky, those buildings connected by Boring tunnel hyperloops would be tornado proof and save lives at Amazon fullfillment centers.

I would put most corporate programming into the bin of 'craft', much more than 'art'.

A former corporate programmer who was a highly paid corporate programmer at the time when he told me this is that all they do is very fast simple arithmetic. Add and subtract.

Great hackers on the PG spectrum may get struck by inspiration and may outperform the average corporate programmer by 10x or 100x or more and work crazy hours while the creative electricity buzzes.

History is fiction in the not-fiction area. 95% is missing taken to the grave in silence and the 5% that is allowed to be there is embellished according to a reinforcing narrative agenda of a kind that sells enough copies to make it worthwhile.

The storyline on the control plane for the Architect and Crypto is fertile field to explore for Civilization player types. Isometric hextile tabletop player map for massive multiplayer gaming with escape hatch for FPS gaming addicts covers all bases. This demo looks GTA skinjob on Hollywood themed franchise, nothing new really. Ideas about reality being a controlled hallucination as theory of mind is an intriguing plot element to expore, too.

I know about virus this much:

what is a virus?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tryg5UCp6fI

I know Dana White of UFC was vaxed and still he got the virus over his thanksgiving break and was cured within a week.

I didn't want to take the vax shots, travel to my doctor was too difficult to figure it out, I have had 1 of the 2 required Pfizer shots needed for access to public space. They had 3 brands available and Moderna was in the middle. The consent form detailed complications and you sign on the dotted line knowing bad things may happen to cover people's asses.

I played volleyball without knowing how to execute the pancake dive and smashed my knees on the floorboards repeatedly in my 10s. I became obsessed with MMA and eventually got a bucket handle tear in my knee at athletic prime. Sometimes the knee refused to straighten and I had to get physio to hoik it back straight. Every step was a pain. Instead of surgery to staple the meniscus down or cut it out, what primitive medical procedure is that?!, I had acupuncture to treat the pain. I think I was lucky in not having the deeply inserted needle sever a controlling nerve from knee to toe. I wouldn't do that again in a do-over. I heard by word of mouth a statistic that 50% of knee surgery don't improve the knee so I didn't have that done. I swim to get exercise or walk gingerly.

If you don't already know and believe this stuff, I doubt China

This Communist Party version of China carries more weight in its words the further it goes in space technology and other domains. China's space station has half the volume of the Saturn 5 era Skylab. The last questioner at an WSJ audience of CEOs with SpaceX founder framed China as the big kid on the block with a projection to grow outsize its economy to the United States Democracy by 3.

Taiwan's top general was lost to a helicopter crash. Kobe Bryant, too. Adequate instruments and training for the pilot in the Kobe Bryant case would've avoided that crash. The word "crash" is used in software/hardware not confined to safety critical systems and so this is appropriate for HN.

In the world of UFC MMA, Connor McGregor's coach Kavanagh is on a go fund me campaign to raise money enough for Ian to walk again, who was recently injured along the spine. The treatment Kavanagh has for Ian costs 75 thousand euros and they at last count had reached 45 thousand euros. Elon Musk should reachout to coach Kavanagh to see what treatment options Neuralink has compared with what other treatments are available for Ian to walk again.

I don't know anything about submarines, but I would expect some kind of real-time navigation system to alert me before hand.

For docking simulation to the space station, SpaceX has a website for controlling the Dragon capsule's UI. That could be the UI ergonomy baseline for measuring the current submarine's software against. The Orion and Starliner capsules have their own different more hardware oriented UI. I would expect nextgen submariners to be digital first native fast twitch glass screen navigators, but a submarine taking damage will be a splashy environment as seen in the movies and touch screens won't be as reliable as physical toggles with redundant bypasses etc.

Maybe "Fat Leonard" contributed to the contracting process that put this software on the suboptimal submarine without proper human factors consideration.

Sony has a bio-inspired eye effort. Sony and TSMC coupling in competition with Intel's vomited out Mobileye and TSMC will be interesting race to watch. What does a $15B growing to $50B valuation have to show on its track record using the price on the iPhone camera for reference?

The problem with a pick whoever you want approach is that inside players game the system and you end up with a table top sized voting form. Pick one above the line from out of seven or number all your choice from 1 to 49 below the line is a workable approach. Owners of the media, religiocults and background radiation vantablack money tilt the playing field on West's Democracies.

Some time ago an effort began to port VAX to x86 in emulator. Track down the company that owns the IP redeveloping it and sign-up as a hobbyist user?

"Thousands of Chinese officials are sent to Singapore each year to learn from the city-state’s experience"

The Communist Party ruling over China has been a giant footgun on the Chinese national interest and development. China could've put itself back together after WW2 like Germany, France, Japan did. Good to see and hear US center for learning Chinese language/culture/history has relocated from Beijing to Taiwan.

Work for Humankind 5 years ago

A big step for Lenovo is to make Microsoft Windows one of many choices for operating system and not the monopoly by locked in default. It is a terrible waste to pay for that and not use it at all.

It's beyond time to retire the FAANG acronym.

Antartica has a place called Wolfang. Lots of solar energy 24 hours for months half the year. Minus fifteen degrees centigrade temperature for the data center stadiums. Near zero cost real estate property prices. Uplink to satellite mega constellations. Two thirds of humanity isn't served as futuristically as Silicon Valley and they don't have a $50K Boxable for their inside. WOLFANG global services oriented market has yet to shine?

Go and D are evolutionary steps. Is the race won by having the properties of better than C/Cpp observability, safety, performance, quality of life lib/tooling that leverages AI for debug and deeply sophisticated, technically aesthetic rapid prototyping exploring the solution space styled after DeepMind and mathematical knots?
