Fellow pianist here who also feels like sometimes too much emphasis is placed on score reading!

One interesting counterpoint that was brought up to me by my teacher in uni was that for certain pieces, mainly old old ones (think way before recording), is that sometimes the score is the _only_ thing that we have left from the composer to base our interpretation on!

I hadn't really considered this before, and it did make me appreciate score reading more (altho I still mostly improvise these days :D)

This sounds good on first pass, but consider the implication of allowing donations (and thus, payment method information) to be tied to a Signal users account. I specifically _wouldn't_ want this.

Might be crazy to think, but the thought crossed my mind if the meat was ever ingested, untreated, for recreational purposes.

I have cell service on Google Fi. Long, painful (still-ongoing) story short, they shipped me a Pixel 4a that had no cell service. I went back and forth with support for ten days. Then they shipped me a replacement phone. I confirmed my current address. They sent me a shipping notification for my current address. FedEx ended up delivering the package, no signature required, to a town I used to live in five years ago. I double checked and my current address is the only one on the account.

Going back and forth with support has been useless. I paid for a phone that doesn't work, and I'm being charged for service that I can't use. My last recourse is to refute the payments with my CC company....but that also seems like the quickest way to get my entire Google/YT/Google Fi account locked up because it's all tied together.

I think it is uncharitable to assert that a company that is 45 years old has a strategy that is "never-changing". There is no denying that Microsoft has been hostile to Linux and open source efforts before, but it doesn't mean that this would never change. Last I checked, Microsoft was the largest contributor to open source projects, and Satya Nadella seems to embrace FOSS

Looks like this search engine searches the _articles_ and links that have been shared, whereas hn.algolia.com only searches title, author, and the text of a post if it is a text post.

You mention cognitive load, however this post[0] about Go made me think that the "simplicity" of Go might come with it's own issues that lead to more cognitive load in the long run

I use meet for multiple hours a day, haven't ever had issues with the video dropping, but the tiling thing really does bother me for any meetings that aren't 1:1s. It's crazy when I am in a meeting with 50+ people and can only see the faces of a few. I don't know why they can't fix this.

I went to a large university located in the middle of nowhere. On any given day, only half of the avaliable spots were filled. A parking pass was $300 a semester IIRC.

When parking isnt a limited resource and students are already paying large amounts of money to attend a rural campus that has poor public transit options what then? For me at the time it really just enforced the idea that college is more of a bussiness then it is actually concerned with education

This is a very nice interface! I wonder how well it would scale for huge PRs (many thousands of line changes), which right now are both irritating to review on Github, and other tools like IntelliJ.

Somewhat related, but I wonder if some of the bottlenecks/constraints in this area are caused by the browser or electron (think GitKraken). I know that there are some new tools out there that differ, such as Sublime Merge which uses the same engine as Sublime Text, but I haven't had a chance to try that out yet.

It may be interesting to benchmark Gitlab, Github, prhero, Sublime Merge and other tools on PRs of various sizes..
