I had my first ever whiteboard interview recently. I severely underestimated how difficult it is to write code as compared to a terminal. At the end of it I came out feeling deflated and rather angry as the same piece of work on a machine would have been trivial.

Thanks, what worries me the most is I can handle this charade of memorising obscure CS theory now without responsibilities such as a family and in my peak (under 30). But what happens 15 years down the line in this situation? I would dread to think about it and I feel like giving up coding and moving into product/project management may be a wiser choice.

£20K for a London developer? How the fuck is someone supposed to live on £20K in London? These kind of listings should be banned. You are a sweatshop exploiting cheap labour and should be ashamed of your pathetic pay.
