I just ran into this issue after recently disabling IPv6 on my machines, a fix is to add "AddressFamily inet" to the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file and reload the ssh service.

Been doing it since 1999 and the things they mentioned are the main things to do, works great.

Although cups has a hardwired dependency on libsnapd-glib1 so you can't remove that library, but the nosnap.pref file will prevent snapd from ever being installed again.

PopOS isn't from Canonical. Use Ubuntu or Kubuntu for a wonderful Linux Desktop experience. It's only worked for me since 2006.

Without reading your link yet, I don't understand why is it difficult to understand when I say all my devices on all the Dell (and Alienware), HP and Lenovo PC's I've bought the past two decades just work on Linux.

Even as a gamer, I prefer to use cheap monitors, wasted too much money on expensive ones in my younger days only to see them break after a few years then the money is gone. I can afford better, I'm just cheap. I imagine I will start using a better monitor in coming years and if I see issues, I'll definitely honestly report them and discuss them. Another thing to think about, more pixels means more electricity used to keep them lit and more electricity to shove images around on the screen for the GPU, higher electricity bill, more carbon in the atmosphere.

I wonder how many HiDPI users also complain about global warming in other forums.

As a dev, wish I worked there, IBM was the only other place I worked where many devs and even a few thousand ordinary users like marketing, ran Linux. Also, I wasn't aware RedHat removed KDE, what an odd and crappy move. KDE rocks. Gnome not. RPM based distros sooner or later corrupt themselves, I run and recommend Ubuntu or Kubuntu (for KDE people), with Snap disabled with a small apt preferences file.

Honestly, when it comes to "just working," desktop Linux is worse today than it was when I first installed it on my budget laptop in 2007.

I bought a new Alienware PC in summer 2022, installed Ubuntu immediately, wiping Windows. Everything worked. Still does. This happens on every new Dell (or Alienware), HP or Lenovo desktop or laptop I've bought the past 2 decades. I can't buy a new machine that has issues with Linux, what on Earth could I be doing wrong that they all work.

NO. No. No. No Snap. No flatpak. No rolling release distribution nightmares either. Standard LTS for me (with snap and flatpak disabled with an apt preferences file).

Adobe is not the only problem. Hardware support, codecs, media support.

Hardware, old to the newest, works the same or better on my Dell, HP and Lenovo machines and has for close to 2 decades.
