At least re: online pharmacy, that's patently false. Coming from someone who currently runs a legitimate online pharmacy, there is a 9-12 month accreditation process (VIPPS) that adwords, etc requires before letting you advertise.

PillPack, Inc - Somerville, MA - http://pillpack.com

PillPack is simplifying the process of managing medications for the 30M+ Americans that take 5 or more prescriptions a day. We have a full service pharmacy in NH (with robots) and a beautiful office in Davis Square (no robots, yet).

We are currently a small team (~10), and looking to grow both engineering (frontend, full stack, ios) and marketing. We are backed by top tier VC's and are one of the few consumer startups in the area that take design seriously (we've been living in IDEO for the last 4 months and just moved into our own office last week).

This. I still have all the buttons a non-idrive 3 series has has, and typically turn off the screen when I don't need the additional features. But it is really nice to have navigation, bmw assist, and all the additional features that come along with iDrive when I want them. I have a hard time understanding the downside.

I attended college in Boston at a different, much less prestigious institution. After wandering around the MIT campus a handful of times, I began to wonder if there was any way I could possibly get involved in the ecosystem. So that fall, I volunteered to help run the annual business plan competition and was accepted on the organizing team without any questions.

Over the course of the next 3 years I became more and more involved at MIT, helping run other student organizations and attending as many talks and events as I could. I can honestly say that no one ever snubbed me or looked down on me for not being an MIT student, and that I truly felt like one of their own. If I ever see significant success in this life, I look forward to being able to repay the debt I owe to this marvelous institution. MIT truly is a special place.

You mean the FDA? No offense, but just because you are well versed in one subject does not mean you really understand the idiosyncracies of another. Every time I see a drug / medicine related thread on HN I cringe. Much in the same way you would if you read a technology related post on a forum geared towards doctors and pharmacists.

From what I can tell the rating is random & anonymous. I took a picture of breakfast, don't have any friends using the app, and had 48 votes within a few hours. The app is really slick...

Having been forced to live with an ipad (and only an ipad) for the last month due to an unfortunate accident with my macbook, I can promise there are very few benefits and a plethora of drawbacks. It takes me about twice as long to do anything other than read blog posts...even posting to Tumblr is a major effort. It's a great toy, or even computing platform for someone like my mom (she loves hers), but it leaves a lot to be desired for me.

I think the Apple TV is getting a lot closer to a cable killer than most people realize. Slowly but sureley all the pieces are falling into place. Hulu + Netflix + MLB/NBA Apps + ipad mirroring (cnn, nbc, abc, hbo, etc apps) is almost as good as cable for a fraction of the price.

I'm currently in my sixth and final year of pharmacy school which consists entirely of clinical rotations at different practice sites in the area. Not only are these internships completely unpaid, we have to pay ~$30k for the priviledge which equates to almost $1000/week (6 x 6 week rotations). It's a complete scam.

I deleted facebook about six months ago because it was a huge stressor that added very little value to my life. I have too many subsets of friends, which makes it impossible to maintain one personality without offending someone. This just isn't how human's interact and I think it will eventually kill off facebook, unless they find some way to mitigate it.

For reference: 1) Highschool friends and family who are incredibly religious/right wing/etc 2) Friends from skiing, many of whom make a living on the mountain, who are about as vile as one can imagine 3) Friends from college or work, which consists mostly of PharmD's, MD's, and nurses. 4) Other random friends from startup stuff, partys, etc
