I think this has been shared before, I’ve tried using it but it as some flaws. The font for example puts a dot on the row below the letter V, and some of the default margins are tricky to work with. But it’s a fun idea!

So you know how to refer to them to other people or in conversation. The order notes preference. So someone might use they/him, which means they prefer you use ‘they’ but if you use ‘him’ it’s okay.

It is staggeringly unlikely that you would ever have encountered a .gb domain in the wild. The only domain which is registered, though inactive, is hmg.gb - standing for His Majesty's Government. The domain was originally created in the mid 1980s, and abandoned at some point in the 1990s. There are no active domains which use .gb and today, the government only uses .gov.uk for its domains.

I‘ve had problems with plain text emails being treated as spam, but send the same content as HTML and it’s allowed through. I’d send more plain text emails, but it would cause more problems.

Hate to break it to you my guy, but that is not ‘gender politics’, it‘s just her name and her pronouns. If you use he/him and I say she/her, that’s rude. It’s no different.

It was so good! Once they got rid of it I started moving away from Gmail because it was clear they just didn’t know what they were doing.

It doesn’t sync your entire experience. I have a completely different setup for each profile, and then I use Containers _within_ each profile. They’re not the same thing.

When I open Chrome, I can open any profile straight away from the menu. On Mac, there’s just one Chrome icon.

When I open Firefox, I have to go to a page that looks like a developer debug mode, and then open a new profile in a new Firefox instance. I now have two Firefox icons in my dock. I normally work with three profiles, so now I have three Firefox icons in my dock all called Firefox. 66.6% of the time I press the wrong one.

The problem is that Firefox has to be at least as good as Chrome to succeed. Being _almost_ as good as Chrome means people will just use Chrome.

Just need to convince all my life-long friends to move with me and this sounds like great advice!

This is borderline romantic at this point. What bank do you think would ever possibly agree to this? Most people can’t even prove to their banks that they can afford a mortgage that’s less than the rent they’re currently paying.

It’s fine if you load each page as an HTTP request, but if your ‘pages’ aren’t real, re-loading everything from an API each time is a bit of a pain.

I love that you looked at this website, saw its <table> layout, saw the copyright was the year 2000, saw the images with terrible drop shadows, the freeservers icon in the top, and thought “uh, weird this isn’t https”.

Or, I go to a doctor, who is a medically trained professional, and they prescribe a medicine to me based on their experience and training, without any incentive for financial reward?

Chrome is better than Firefox for most everyday use. I use Firefox because I don’t want to use a Google browser and I like the idea of having browsers that aren’t based on Chromium, but for goodness’ sake at least make me not hate that choice. I cannot, and do not, recommend Firefox to anybody because it’s not good enough. This is not helping.

Really feel like they could have tried about 5% harder with the name. At least the brand doesn’t have to be soulless even if the place is.

When they introduced one of the efforts in April 2019 I noticed within a few weeks the difference – it has got better, but there’s a long way to go.

I don’t understand why people have such an issue with DST. Longer summer evenings where you can wander around with light late into the evenings are glorious.

The problem with everyone doing some of these tips is that I now just ignore all emails that appear to be from people instead because I don’t ever believe it’s from a real person, so unless I’m expecting an email from someone I won’t open these anymore and I just skim the subject. Not sure if people outside of the web community do this too, but probably only a matter of time if not.

Using Excel is strange, so using columns really isn’t a massive leap. It is rows as per other articles, there aren’t even that many tests available to go over 1m.

Stripe is cheaper than CCBill, so it makes sense to send more that way when you can.

I use a lot of Linux servers, including my own at home but it’s headless, so I’m pretty familiar but I’ve never used one as my own operating system. But I do prefer spending my free time working on projects and hobbies, rather than having to maintain my computer.

I still don’t fully understand this world, I ‘downgraded’ from an i7 to a slower i5, and my computer got faster. I wish they’d use sensible clear names for the generations so you can clearly understand what’s better.
