Playing along felt like the price of inclusion.

Wait, what? The author played along for more than a year and then placed a complaint? Maybe it's the way the article is written but this seems pretty bad on the author's part.

The author seemed to be mainly worried about their ruining their 'upward trajectory' in the company.

Aaannnd the author is writing a book.

Yes, I am cynical.

You can't consume all your information through one source or aggregator. Use multiple and introduce new ones frequently and you will have no reason to be concerned.

I also think your concerns can be addressed with just thinking and rationality. If you read something from one source and agree with it just recognise that you have some information but also recognise you don't have all the information. Keep an open mind and be skeptical. I think this is critical because you can't read enough sources on every topic.

Would I try get a job in Google if it was the same salary as my current job and the interview was 'normal'? Yes.

Would I try get a job there if the salary was the same, or even more, than my current job but the interview process is how it is? Nope.

I think you have a misunderstanding. The product would work for some of the same people who watch tiktoks.

We do this in work and it's not great in my opinion.

There can be issues with package versions compiled to the db. It makes continuously integration harder. We do automated builds and testing in the application layer but we don't have anything in the db layer. It's harder to create a new environment (for a developer who does not have full db permissions). Business logic ends up in the stored procedure layer AND the application layer.

I agree with you but set up of a new phone is pretty simple if you move Android->Android or iPhone->iPhone. Your google or apple account should sync everything

I was slightly confused by this as well but I think I got the gist. It's a chromecast interface/OS so that Google knows what you're watching on Netflix, Amazon Prime and other apps

This is timely for me as I was just searching for it. I am using supercook.com but was looking for alternatives (just to see how good the alternatives were)
