Well, let me tell you about qmail. Each part of that setup has only privilege that it needs to go it's job.

Seems a good design and very few problems given its age.

Postfix seems next best by design.

How many parts of least privilege is message acceptance to mailbox in exchange? I suspect one program image.

There used to be a site that had desktop themes showcased in the late 90s or early 2000's that was popular, csnt remember the name of it now.

I used to look at the windowmaker and KDE themes in that daily.

Nostalgia, would like to see them again.

Hey, unrelated to DBs, but my view is WSL is boring, seems a VM with mounts, but wine feels much cooler.

Interesting view with cloud vendors, there does seem to be a shift from traditional LAMP stack.

Some v92 "winmodems" were more glorified sound cards so needed CPU. If the PC was busy, sonetithe line could drop. A 33.6 would be hardware, so there could be a time when slower becomes faster due to CPU load.

All external 56k modems were hardware, some people wouldn't risk an internal card for fear of ending up with a driver based device.

Ah good ol' days of BBS and wvdial for internet.

We are like 11 and 1 o'clock, so close yet so far.

I can't see 100 quid getting five times the headphone experience. Given these have lasted a decade, I don't see myself needing to replace the five times over during the rest of my life. I don't think my ears would be able to distinguish the difference, especially not from pc sound output.

Hd201,about £20 when I bought them ten or more years back. Worth the money. Anything more than this and you're into diminished returns, it just doesn't make sense to step outside the lower part of £30.
