This story made me really curious about why there is such little investment there is in lab-grown meat globally, given the huge cost of global emissions from livestock. It seemed like the lab-grown meat industry was set to take off.. why are investors shying away?

Is it consumer appetites, a powerful food and or farming lobby, or are there more glamorous and interesting ways to save the planet? Should we just eat less meat?

While I agree that having people settle in a place where their wages far outstretch those of the local population is problematic, I think there's more at play here and it's reductive to attribute rising costs and rents to this pretty small population of people. Rents and costs are rising everywhere, even in places where there is little or no digital nomad population. There are bigger factors at play such as global supply chain issues, rising inflation, globalisation, tourism, poor housing policies and corrupt local governments... Don't like Digital nomads per se (certainly the people conveyed here) but they are not solely responsible.
