Well, I am sorry if you misunderstood what I am talking about... maybe because I did not tell the whole story.

I lost more than 7 points of karma in 20 minutes! All of that because I commented on that story: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=516027 And I was telling users NOT to flag that story, because those people are in trouble, and we should help them. So everyone down-voted that comment, and when I deleted it, it looks like they wanted to continue down-voting my other comments!

I received this from Hadi Partovi, iLike founder...

Got to repeat what I said previously:

I always had serious doubts that Google is going to track users in such a way, as Google is always looking for a way to collect users' info - Look at Youtube and all of other Google's acquisitions!

Specially after their acquisition of Urchin - currently known as Google Analytics.

In fact I was asking myself, when Google will use these huge data sets that it has about us?

The interest based advertising is something that I am working on (research), and I am trying to code algorithm that would understand users' interests...

In fact, you can flag comments regardless if you reply to it or not. Once you pass the karma threshold - I think it's 50 - then you can flag any comment.

If you want to flag a comment, you will find beside the comment headline: link Click on the link link , and you will be moved to another page that you can see the flag link.

I hope this is useful for you.

The borders. :) The visas laws... if you are an American, then almost you don't know about it, but Arabs are restricted from entering America... only fraction of Arabian visa applicants are granted the visa.

Anyway, I hope that maybe after 30 yrs from now, the globalization will be more practiced, and the borders will be removed.... so I would be able to acheive my dream.

I really wish to move to the Silicon Valley... it's my biggest dream in my life. Starting my startup at the heart of the Silicon Valley - Palo Alto, or maybe at Mountain view... ouch, this dream is always in my head!

It's not about money or any thing... it's just emotional. It's enough to tell you that the Silicon Valley is in my heart, and that I visit Google maps every day to take a look at the area with the street view feature.

I always had critical doubts that Google is going to track users in such a way, as Google is always looking for a way to collect users' info - Look at Youtube and all of other Google's acquisitions!

Specially after their acquisition of Urchin - currently known as Google Analytics.

Hello, Your type of thinking/analyzing is deeply needed when developing the AI - at least this is what I think.

I am very interested in reading more of your analyzes... Do you have a blog? AI is one of the main topics that I love to read about.

Yes I know that the individual comments are the ones stored in the memory. But it takes a while to load anyway. like the feature request story... it takes around 11 seconds to load.

Thanks for making it clear to me, I really appreciate it. :)

Well, Don't you think that if you make pagination for comments of a story, that could help?

For example, if a story has 50 comments, then it should be devided into 2 pages, each page shows 25 comments... and as a result it will use less memory?

Thank you so much for the link to the video.

It's very easy to setup and really amazing... I just tested it out on my laptop with my computer's monitor(I plugged my computer's monitor in the laptop instead)... and it's really cool.

Why do you laugh? If I am saying something wrong, then I would like to know it. I am here to learn!

You wrote this: 465,000 people creating new businesses on average each month Does it mean that there are around half million people create new businesses monthly?

If this number is monthly, then there are around 5.58 Million people make new startups/businesses yearly?

Is there any proof that these numbers are real ?

hmmmm Thank you so much for taking time to help me. I really appreciate it.

This community is confusing me more than you...

When it comes to up-voting and down-voting... you will see all of these crazy things!

Did you add the word "many" on the saved list, instead of the number of saved stories, for performance tuning?

women who create sites to get hired by Twitter Well, I thought of flagging this story, but I saw everyone is interested in discussing it!

Anyway, HN is really slow since the last week, and it's being down for 4 to 5 times daily - for me. But when I ping 67.15.104.17 , it works fine.

Maybe killing the spam automatically should help? I am not sure.
